I understand that mistakes are made, and it's a difficult job, but this is not one of those instances. They obviously thought about how to penalize Nurse without having him ejected and suspended.

Not only that, they issued an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to the Sharks' coach afterward for rightfully laying into them.

Nurse is quickly showing that he likes to pick his spots and that he seems like a bit of a coward. Just like at the Pentiction tourney where he goaded Rasmus Andersson to a fight and pounded the crap out of him. Find out later it was Anderssons first fight ever.
Has he fought anybody of note yet or does he really just go after guys who don't fight?
I know he is young, but he seems really dumb.

He fought Lucic who made him his biatch. Lesson learned. So now the Nurse seems to only fight guys smaller than him or jump them before they can respond. This apparently is to show that the oil won't get pushed around anymore. Comedy.

Milan Lucic and Hunter Smith are two big dudes I can think of off the top of my head.

Because Nurse kept provoking him. Andersson (foolishly) felt that he had to do the 'North American thing' and drop them and go.
Nurse knew who he was provoking.
And then there was the celebration.

I was fine with the whole thing, but the celebration after beating up a non-fighter shows his low hockey iq imo.
The guy has all the raw tools to be a good d-man but so far is lacking the sense to put it all together. And he's not going to learn being force fed the minutes he's been getting in Edmonton. Needs to be sheltered more, but they have nobody to shelter him with. Oilers are going to ruin another one here

Who cares what he did in Penticton. It is completely besides the point and irrelevant. What he did a couple of days ago was obviously crossing the line and that is why he was suspended.
As for celebrating after a fight being some sort of mortal sin...

Look at who the refs were: http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreport...6/GS021000.HTM
Good old, Eric Furlatt. Worst ref in the league since Magoo retired.

Haha, love that the Oilers picked this goon over Ristolainen.
Who are we kidding though. If they'd picked Ristolainen he'd just look like a lost, useless mess too. It's what they do to players.

So much wrong with your post.
Firstly, Nurse didn't celebrate a fight. That wasn't a fight, it was a cowardly attack.
Secondly, Gratts is not celebrating a fight in that picture. He was saluting the crowd upon his return to Calgary since they were acknowledging him in that moment.

Ahhh good ol' MMM. Who cares what he did? We are talking about what he does, so of course it is relevant.
Celebrating after beating the $hit out of some guy you goaded into a fight, who has never had one hockey fight is much different than fighting a fighter in your first game back with your new team and saluting the crowd.
I see the beating of Sestito by McGrattan still burns you inside. Excellent indeed.
Salute to you.
