They've had a look at Nakladal & Wotherspoon, my guess is they give Kulak a spin on the 3rd pairing beside Engelland/Wideman (when he returns)

I mean, I guess if the Stars drop down to the first WC they would play the Pacific teams, but that looks very very unlikely this year. The road to the WCF is going to go through Chicago or whatever WC teams beats Chicago.

It's going to be hilarious if the Canucks can't trade Hamhuis especially with the return for Russel

At least when I was growing up, it was a racial slur, so probably not. Especially on the CBC Punjabi broadcast.

First of all, it's Jokipakka...So Pakki makes no sense, should be Pakka.
Second of all...Stop.

I wonder what Jokipakka means for Tyler Wotherspoon. Both young bottom pair defensemen.

Maybe they should start using their eyeballs then. Clearly Russell was valued despite what the numbers said.
A bit of wizardry on BT's part though, no doubt.

Which they can't do without going through Chicago.
I see zero chance of that happening with that blue line.

Is the return for Russell better than the return for Iginla?

Stars fans seem to be hating this. The most positive comments are calling this a lateral move.
They seem to like Jokipakka.
(Then again their defense sucks, so it's not much of an endorsement.)

Hard to say, I get the sense from the limited reading I've done that he's better suited as a bottom pairing guy. It'll be interesting to see how he's used over the remainder of the season.

I disagree, but I'll say this, the Stars are 2nd best in the NHL in CF60 at 62.4. If Russell can get his CA60 of 62.84 down to around 58 (which will probably happen just because of the stark difference in offensive zone time) he'll find himself over 50% possession just by virtue of being on a great roster.

Whoops. Haven't watched it in a while. Seemed to fit with the idea of that nickname though.
