There are different ones, but the one I have puts #50 and #55 at 400 and 350 pts respectively

23rd is 760 points, and 24th is 740 points.

So they get you a late 1st.

Edit: however, most recent trades in the NHL require better 2nds than that to get a late 1st. More like a 35 and a 55 to get you into the 20s.

This one lines up better with trades that we have actually seen recently

Land us that kid Nichuskin, Brad.

I want a big young RW acquisition to salivate over and ease the pain of this season.

Nichushkin would take Russell ++ but depending on what that ++ is I'd love to get him. Those Finnish kids are far from guarantees despite our current 28th place standing.

News Update

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Bruins are a major player today. Working on Hamhuis/Russell...considering Eriksson trade options. Lots of discussions in Boston.

Burke was just on TSN. He said that interest in Russell has picked up considerably in the last 12 hours, and that he would be surprised if something doesn't get done with Russell today.

If Russell does end up bringing two seconds, I'd just as soon use them to draft prospects. The more bullets in the chamber, the better.

Burke on 960 says the offers for Russell today are better than what they were last night.

Truth or just posturing?

Helps that it sounds like Boston, Dallas, and Washington might all be interested.

Could well be true, but if Burke's lips are moving he's in selling mode.

Whether he's blowing smoke or not, days like today is where having a guy like Burke in the organization pays off in spades. The fact he's able to get on national tv first thing in the morning and stir the pot a little bit is just fantastic.

Not to mention Burke's hockey contacts which I'm sure are as deep as anyone's in the game. A very handy individual to have around.

Good offers, but not two 2nd round picks.

I think Burke said on TSN this morn that "their internal price tag has been met". So they could be sitting with a two 2nd offer waiting to see if something better comes.

If Russell gets us 2 seconds, and say we can trade Backlund for a 2nd, we have 5 second-round picks. What could we do with 5 second-rounders?
