Another quiet effective game so far from Wotherspoon and Nakladal after two. Both have 10+ minutes so far.

The Flames have looked really good tonight, against quite s good team that has dominated the WC this season.
I wonder why? Could it be as simple as a boost provided by Ortio's steady goaltending in the first?

Wotherspoon/Nakladal would have likely gotten shots earlier in the year except we surprisingly were injury free on the defense almost all year after Brodie got back. That pretty much never happens. So New Era if you wanted to see them earlier you probably should have gone Tonya Harding style down at the dome

I think Russell was even more of a liability in his own end. He gives up the puck more than Wideman. Or gives it to his partner in a panic, and his partner is in a bad spot and gives it up.
Wideman's zone exit was still better IMO.

Nakladal had a shift where he held the puck in offensively like three straight times.
THen Bollig went and ruined Nakladal's great shift by getting into a second fight with Martin
