He is on pace for the 50 he usually gets. If thats a surprise to you it surey isnt to BT.

There is always interest in a steady 50 pt guy with a good attitude and cup experience.

Agreed, lots written & said about how horrible he's been. I don't think Hudler's been that bad. I think he's looked like the Hudler we had for 2 years before his big break out. Which is a solid crafy point producer on your 2nd or 3rd line who isn't counted on to be the primary weapon.

For sure no teams will low ball us on Hudler....Burkie already told everyone we are hard bargainers when Cammalleri was a pending UFA....I'm sure all the GM's think about that when they talk to the Flames...we will get a 1st for sure....

But now every non-playoff team is a lottery team.

Yes, hence every 1st rounder traded from this point on will be lottery protected. But the value of a 1st rounder hasn't changed IMO. That corresponds to draft class more than anything

Trade him for what you can even just to open a roster spot at this point. Hopefully GM's don't look at video of the points he's credited for this season because he wasn't a key contributor for very many goals...

Gaustad was a very good 3rd line center that's a wizard on the draws. A 1st might be high, but he was an important player. It would be like the Vermette trade last year.

Lebrun also said that he thinks Hudler is one of the top names for a contender looking for a top 6 forward. He thinks Hudler will bring automatic offense.

TSN has Hudler as #10 on their trade bait board.

Yeah I mean some GMs will see 70 points last year and think he just needs a change of scenery. You see that all the time.

He'll have some value. Hopefully he puts up some points between now and a trade and boosts that value slightly.

You can bet Hartley will give him every opportunity as he has been all season long. Here's hoping he does something with it now.

Who's going to hold a trade up on who? Vrbata trade holding Hudlers up or vice vesra?

I don't know who could take Staals remaining cap hit for the year at the deadline. That's still a big chunk of change on the table. I'd bet he doesn't get traded.

Ladd might be the pin on the grenade for the FW rentals. Holding up Vrbata and Hudler. Unless teams think they can grab the other two for much less and get the same results.

And Eriksson? I'll wager he re-signs in BOS.

Hudler is going to Washington for a 2nd and 3rd pick.

The Bruins have potentially four picks in the first 60 of this draft. Their 1st and the Sharks 1st for Martin Jones. A 2nd from the Islanders for Johnny Boychuk and maybe Edmonton's as compensation for Peter Chiarelli. Edmonton can pick this year or next however.

Tampa has two 2nd's as well, their own and Boston's.

These are potential trade partners for the Flames I'd imagine. Playoff bound teams with a couple extra picks they wouldn't be worried about losing for a rental.

Getting a couple 2nd round picks for Hudler would be a steal IMO. He's worth more than Glencross. Yeah he's been struggling but he's still on pace for over 40 points and can be an asset for a playoff team if he gets hot again.

I'm not sure how to explain it, but with the way the salary cap works, lots of teams should have room for Staal on the 29th. Something to do with prorated salary.

Someone else can probably explain it, since I have no idea how it actually works.

Nashville would be my guess.
