So why wouldn't Yzerman expect a prospect of the same calibre coming back?
I don't see him going Top 6, at all... 8 at the highest...possible 9 as some might prefer Duclair at this point.

MacKinnon
Barkov
Jones
Monahan
Risto
Domi
Lindholm
Maybe Duclair

...anyway, I didn't attempt to put them in order, necessarily, but most would have them all ahead of Drouin, at this point

Horvat is a few places too high in that list, IMO

I'd agree, considering Ristolainen has almost twice as many points (as a defensiveman) and a much better plus minus while on a worse team.

And you can make a pretty strong case for Nurse given his season this year.

I'd rather have Nurse or Domi than Horvat.

You can debate order of individual players all day. But I think it's reasonable to say that, looking at that list, Drouin going somewhere around 9th doesn't sound far off the mark.

Arguably Nurse, Nichushkin, and maybe even Burakowsky as well. Maybe not some of those, Drouin's numbers are pretty decent actually.

Yeah Nichushkin should get a fair bump up from the #10 spot where he was drafted. I'd put him ahead of Duclair and Lindholm at the very least.

Yep, also reasonable to say the whole top 10 might be different in 2-3 more years

Of course. The purpose of the discussion is merely to help assess his current value, seeing as he is on the block and all...

Possibly Duclair (although Duclair is going to have a better current season) but Nichushkin hasnt done anything over and above Lindholm despite having far, far better support. If anything, I think Nichushkin has been a bit of a dissapointment so far.

If there was any thoughts of trading Bennett for Drouin (by fans, that is; management already knows) tonight should have fixed it.

The only people that ever wanted to trade Bennett for Drouin are Tampa fans

Possibly true Vinny01. It seemed like I kept seeing his name pop up all the time.

MacKenzie kept tweeting that Bennett was the kind of return Yzerman would be asking for.

But few if any posters suggested we should.

Very true. There were people in the thread saying the value is pretty even (but not wanting to make the deal). Any reports coming out of the National media said if Calgary wanted Drouin Yzerman wanted Bennett. Funny that Bennett's name was attached to Stamkos earlier in the year as well

Default Jonathan Drouin asks for trade. Upd:McKenzie - CGY among 13+ teams interested

Bennett working on 3 goals in the first two periods, while Drouin is held off the scoresheet entirely for a third straight game ... in the AHL.

I'm pretty sure Bennett has been suggested only by MacKenzie.
