Yandle is putting off extension talks with Rangers
Likely traded by the deadline
50/50 chance Kindl is claimed on waivers.
Detroit is looking to create cap space
All star voting will be changed next year after Scott

Probably easy. TOI/game eligibility minimum
Most players would qualify

Even if its not a set amount of players per team, they could just decide which players get voted on. 4 on some teams 8 on another. Scott is not on that list.

The only big D-man that I really want for the Flames is Meyers from the Jets. What'll it take to get that trade done?

Nothing the Flames are willing to give up. Especially if they trade Byugflin.

He was the main piece coming back in a blockbuster trade last year for the Jets - they are not trading him.

Personally, I'd love it if we could somehow land Meyers from the Jets. But only if we could do so without giving up Gaudreau, Monahan, Bennett, Brodie, Gio, Hamilton, Ferland, Gillies, Jankowski, Porrier, Kyllington, Andersson or Hickey.

2015/2016 Trade Speculation and Rumors
Can we at least spell his name right if we want to trade for him?

Read the Garrioch article. He mentioned that we were one of the teams chasing Johansen (this was also echoed by the much more reliable Friedman earlier in the week on the FAN). Garrioch also stated there is almost no chance Drouin is traded to the east. Lists Calgary as a team looking for an impact forward.

Why are the Blues looking to move Shattenkirk? Such a big part of their backend... Move Bouwmeester... Or Backes...

Budget team and he's going to command close to 8m IMO.

That doesn't mean a lot as I'm sure over half the league called the Jackets to inquire about the possibility. We all know Treliving is a tireless worker and leaves no stones unturned so I would imagine he kicks the tires on any big player that is possibly available for trade. The fact that he couldn't get a deal done is telling that the Flames either didn't have what the Jackets wanted or his interest wasn't enough to pull off the trade.
I have absolutely no doubt he's spoken with Yzerman about Druin but I'm sure if a deal was to be made it would be made.

Looking at what the Jackets got the ask from the Flames had to be Hamilton, Brodie, or Monahan. I agree though it appears Treliving is in on everything because he doesn't want to miss out. I also agree we are missing 1-2 top 6 forwards.

Blues are not a budget team. They play to the cap.
Shattenkirk is still signed for next year at 4.2 mill.
They have Pietraneglo, Boumeeseter (who works well with Pie) and Parayko who can all move the puck.
Blues want another impact scorer thus they have to give up something good. they were in Johansen sweepstakes as well.

Should be able to address one of those spots with one of the big wingers in the draft as the Flames are sitting on the 5th pick today and I don't expect that to change much between now and the end of the season.

Apparently they lose tons of money, and have for years, there's lots of talk about it out there. They might be at the cap now, but if they keep underachieving that will change. For now, I think they are trying to salvage their window.
The writing is on the wall IMO. They are going to lose Backes, they are trying to trade Shattenkirk. I think they are going to try to go younger and cheaper since their losing money model hasn't exactly paid off.
