Is there anyone on earth who goes out of their way to shop at Safeway because of this promotion?
And the announcer is always careful to say that all you win is a CHANCE to win a million dollars if a player scores 5 in a game. What is the real contest at that point?

I have always assumed that this is because of the possibility of it happening more than once during the season. Then they would have a draw for the winner, because they aren't going to pay out a million twice.

Twist: Gaudreau scores 5 goals in a game, "winner" fails the skill testing question resulting in no grand prize award.

Is this poll for "Will Johnny ever score 5 goals" or is it just "Will he score 5 this season?"
If it's just for this year, I'm going to go with No. If it's for the rest of his career, imma say yes!

Chances are arguably worse, given how infrequently it happens. I don't have numbers of safeway or 6/49 contestants.

The score 5 goals/win a mil. thing reminds me of Lanny's buy a vehicle and if it snows 10 feet or whatever, everyone wins $10,000. Not happening any time soon. I guess that's the whole idea!

These large corporate prizes are all insured. Aside from the premium these companies pay, they'll never actually fork out millions from their business bank account. The smaller prizes are donated by the manufactures, and don't cost Safeway a dime. Publicity!

I think it would be awesome if Johnny won the Score and Win by buying Compliments cheese slices at Safeway and then scoring five goals in a game.

I think Nieuwendyk and Makarov are the 5 goal scorers for the Flames, but that was before Score and Win.
EDIT: Makarov only had four.

For those who don't know, it can actually be deceptively easy to fail a skill-testing question. For example, what does "4 + 5 x 3" equal?
Is it:
( 4 + 5) x 3 = 9 x 3 = 27
Or is it:
4 + ( 5 x 3) = 4 + 15 = 19
The answer is the second one. You need to know the "order of operations" (i.e., solve all the multiplications before you solve the additions, even if they're written in the reverse order, etc, etc).
Just a little math reminder in case Bennett scores 1 + 2 x 2 goals next game.

Above the 9 and 0 (assuming you use QWERTY).
