I understand what you are saying but where have I said anything about worrying about what assets you get back? Wideman is a tough one because of his NMC, but I would offer him around for free. Just get rid of him. I think there is a time where you just have to cut a loss and move on, and Wideman is a loss. The team screwed up by not sending Raymond down when they had the chance, and bury him for the season. I don't see anything that mortgages the future by removing dead weight. Would I like them to get assets back? Yes? Do I think that is a requirement right now? No. I think we can improve by deleting some of the guys who have consistently played poorly.

Johnny is the most talented player the franchise has ever had since Kent Nillson. The difference is, he seems to care about winning. Give him every penny he asks for. A player like him might come along for a franchise every 20-30 years. He is 100% a franchise player, superstar.... Whatever ultra label you want to put on him. And the timing is perfect with the hitting basically removed from the game. 10 years ago, he's a Swiss league lifer.

For all we know they have offered him for free. Though I think that is doubtful as they don't have someone to step in to replace him

Whats Tarasenko making again? I can live with that. I think 6.5 is the end per year number though. EDIT: In regards to Johnny's new up coming contract.

Did the Flames really have 20 shots in the 2nd? Wow. 30 shots after two periods must be a season high.
