The same night that Healy said that last year was Johnny's breakout game in the NHL... had 3 points I believe. When the other guys on After Hours started to tease Healy about how wrong he was, he changed the subject by commenting on the socks that one of the other panelists were wearing... Not kidding... That's what he did. I could be wrong but I don't think Healy has been on HNIC After Hours since then... he hasn't had to face the music for what he said last year.

This is getting blown out of proportion. He said Johnny hadn't done anything significant in the NHL to earn that nickname. What he didn't realize was that the nickname came from his college dominance and not from Flames fans.
I'm not a Healy fan in the slightest, but it was more of a case of him not knowing the facts than him dissing Johnny

Yeah, but then he doubled down by referring to Gaudreau as "Johnny Jockey". Pretty sure he was intentionally "dissing" Johnny

You have the context right, but the tone was extremely negative

This is very true. But to be fair, Healy only has one tone and it is extremely negative.

Well, unless he is making pontifications like:
"It's not a matter of 'if' or 'when' the Oilers win, but rather 'how many Stanley Cups.'"

Disagree. If you're going to come on Nation TV and say things then you better know your facts.
Haeley was and is terrible.

I believe he called him "Johnny Shinny"
Glenn Healy is no good.

Healy definitely came across to me as both ignorant and a dick with his comments and tone. I bet him and Garrett get along real well. I bet you'd you'd hear some profound(not necessarily correct) things coming from those conversations.

John Garrett does not strike me at all as a pompous, belligerent ass like Healy. He is more of a doddering buffoon.

No player in the NHL has more points this season when the score is tied than #Flames Johnny Gaudreau.

Whatever happened to Healy anyways - I haven't seen him on air since around this time last year.
I just assumed his broadcasting career tanked in the opposite direction as Johnny's ascension in the NHL. Their fates are inversely correlated.

sadly there were enough of these oiler cup prognosticators in the media that it's easy to get them mixed up. MacLean was the one talking about how it would happen in a couple of years and to get him a glass of wine/beer, whatever the hell that means.
I also can't remember which of them said that the inevitable cups were "simple math". McGuire?

What happened to Al Strachan? I'm not complaining as I love it now that he's not on air. But anyone know if he's retired? or just can't find work?

Dreger was "simple math" guy. Said the oilers couldn't get any worse, so they were bound to be better in the coming season. Simple math, he said.
They got worse.
Ron MacLean was the "it's not a matter of 'if', it's a matter of 'how many'" guy. Before this season started, I think.
Healy says so much stupid ####, it's hard to keep track.

No.
MacLean has made similar statements, but the exaggerated pompousness of this quote is all Healy's.
