I'll willingly eat crow every time this topic gets bumped. He has far exceeded my wildest expectations (which admittedly were really low).

Keep bumping it. Gaudreau is one of the most exciting players I've ever seen in a Flames jersey as I never got to see them pre-2000.

100 NHL points seems like a good reason.

Only 45 players ever drafted by the Flames have reached the 100 NHL point mark. Only 78 players have ever scored 100 points in a Flames jersey.

Well, that pretty much worked out!

I haven't enjoyed watching a Flames player this much since Fleury was traded away. Both little guys, both super skilled, but Theo was a pestiferous little dynamo, whereas Johnny is a total magician. And an absolute superstar.

Calgary should pick one mid-late round little dude every year.

Mangiapane certainly fits that, and could turnout like a slightly bigger version of Gaudreau

Always love to post this every once in a while just to remind everyone that a certain CBC commentator has yet to show his face on any panel and apologize for what he once said about gaudreau...

I think he carves his career out by generally being an idiot and getting attention for it. If people stop giving him attention maybe he will disappear?

Eventually a couple of expansion teams will be added which will nestle the Oilers into 16th.

Picks 1-103 would include all 30 teams.

Great pick.

Healy said Gaudreau didn't deserve the name Johnny Hockey at the start of last season.

He is very quick and was dubbed the slippery sniper here in DBQ. Believe it or not he can take a hit, during the playoffs against Green bay, they were chanting hit the midget, meaning John and they did. He is a heads up player (has to be due to his size) and usually just ducks the goons, but he gets right back up when he does get hit. He isn't afraid to check either though he would bounce off most times. He is only 17 ( I believe) and we would love to have him back for another year depending on whether he goes to Northeastern (with their coach leaving), next year. He is one the main reasons we one the National Championship this past year.

Love how this guy made an account to drop a truth bomb and then peaced.

I like the handle they gave Johnny in Dubuque "the slippery sniper"!

Pretty sure his exact words were "he's not that good." Said he didn't deserve the nickname Johnny hockey.

The same night that Healy said that last year was Johnny's breakout game in the NHL... had 3 points I believe. When the other guys on After Hours started to tease Healy about how wrong he was, he changed the subject by commenting on the socks that one of the other panelists were wearing... Not kidding... That's what he did. I could be wrong but I don't think Healy has been on HNIC After Hours since then... he hasn't had to face the music for what he said last year.

I don't think Healy has been a part of a Flames broadcast since that night either.
