This has been one of the best pre-Christmas seasons I've seen for snow pack.

Enjoy the week off though! Kick and Pano have both looked good on their opening weekends.

It's been a good start, but last year started good as well and then the drought happened. We just deserve an epic season after last years.

Unless they get snow this week, the week leading up to christmas/after christmas could be dicey.

Sunshine was bare in a lot of spots over the weekend.

It's an el nino year; a drought wouldn't be terribly surprising unfortunately.

At least it's staying cold so far, so we're not losing too much snow.

Yup. Was actually why I went to Sunshine on Sunday. Wanted to get a day in during the early season good snow. Was surprised how dead it was.

I have a feeling its going to dwindle from here on this year, snow wise. I only have 1 ski day planned for christmas holidays and thats because I am going to be in Kelowna for a couple days and want to check out big white.

I just purchased my passes for pano for Christmas......looking forward to spending time with my family.

Just finshed washing all our ski jackets and pants with nikwax......just need to organize all the mitts and toques and what not.

I'd sure like to find a toque to fit my pumpkin properly and comfortably.

Sunshine was in great shape Sunday for mid-December.

Plenty of snow on Divide, Wawa, Standish and Lower Goats Eye. Black runs on upper Goats Eye not open yet. No crowds at all in the early season.

I'm in the same boat. I would love to wear a helmet while skiing, but I can't find one that fits my weirdly shaped head. The XL's are long enough but too wide, and the L's are too small. It's weird.

Take a look a the Smith Vantage series. There's a dial on the back to adjust that gives a much more custom fit than a lot of other helmets. I have a horrible time fitting hats and I love that helmet.

This is exactly what I use. Best helmet / goggle combo I've ever used by far. I could be persuaded to swap to Anon M2 goggs but that's about it.

Yup. I've got the I/O instead of the I/OX but it's a fantastic setup.

Tried. No dice.

I have literally been to every store in Calgary and tried on every line of helmet haha.

I have a line on a custom mold helmet that I think I am gonna try.

Has anyone used (or does anyone have) the Ruroc helmet combo? I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on it

Where do you even buy these? Never seen any in real life or anyone wearing one on the hill to be honest.

I'd be interested in hearing how they fit/fell and how safe they are. How much do they even cost?

I always thought they were pretty nerdy. Caters to the LAN party, Halo type guys...

I've seen a few before. Personally didn't think they looked nearly as cool in person.

Bulky and odd looking.

Unless you can try one on with your outfit, I wouldn't risk it.

Not surprisingly the price I saw was $400+
