Was stuck on it once in a windy blizzard for 2 hours. They offered us a free hot chocolate coupon. By the time we got to the lodge to use it, the cafeteria was closed. Thanks Charlie. That was 15 years ago, and the ol' POS is still rattling along.

Where has the best deals for Kicking Horse passes? I'm going for two days in early January and it seems the Costco 2 for $140 is the best.

^You can actually just pre-purchase tickets on the KHMR website for the same price IIRC.
The best deal depends on whether or not you'll be doing any other skiing. An RCR card will get you those two days for about $165, and then future free days at KHMR or Fernie, Nakiska or Kimberley. So if you'll be skiing at any of those at any other time this year, just get the card. If this is your only trip, the Costco tickets are a pretty good call.

Oh man, you guys missed out this weekend if you weren't at COP. I was there for opening day on Saturday, first tracks with my new board. Was sick!
But seriously, I can't wait to hit Louise.

And as a general PSA to anyone going to Louise... try eating at Whitehorn. The Rabbit 5 ways is awesome. The Bison short rib is great. You can pay $15 for a crappy ski hill burger and fries or you can have an actual good meal.

Yeah, but are the lifts heated?
I can't believe you didn't throw out a CP invite.

Covered*** Are the lifts covered**.
In other news, I love waking up to a snowfall alert for somewhere close every day.

Opening day for Fernie on Friday. Doesn't look to steller down here. Nice weather and wind the past week, it was looking sparse when I was up there last weekend. I will still go for opening, but I'm not expecting much.

National Ski Day is Jan 9th. Tickets at Panorama and Nakiska, and 6 other resorts are $15, but you have to pre-buy them: http://nationalskiday.eventbrite.ca/

Good lord, that sounds like a nightmare. I'll ski somewhere else that won't be packed.

Toured up the Stanley glacier area on the weekend. Still needs more snow.

Was out at Fernie over the weekend and the conditions are great up in the alpine. The bottom half needs another few feet of snow to cover everything but it's still skiable and some runs were great.

Taking the week before Xmas off so I can hit up the slopes and avoid the holiday crowds. So far my tour is going to include Castle, Panorama and Louise. Might even get to Kicking Horse/Revelstoke. So lucky to live near so many awesome hills. Just need to it snow more!!
