The Kesler contract is more for putting them over the top in the playoffs as they did win two playoff rounds more with him last season than they were in the previous seasons. That said if they miss the playoffs then it doesn't look all the great for sure.

Friedman on 960 says he is hearing there are a lot of scouts watching the Flames right now. Not sure who they are watching.

Interesting. You have to think Treliving is certainly looking at making a couple of changes with his team having the ability to snag a home ice spot in the first round of the playoffs. I think the team still needs a goalie and a top 6 winger (ideally a big RW that can play on the top line)

Maybe you have this the other way around. I bet lots of scouts of teams like that are looking at a Hudler, Russell, etc.

Absolutely snag Khubodin and send Hiller or Ramo down. It couldn't get any worse, we have the worst goalies in the league there is no reason to not try it.

Yeah I would absolutely take a chance on Khudobin. Send Hiller to AHL, ECHL, KHL, Japan League, or anywhere.

If flames are serious about keeping Granlund up for rest of season then they need to trade somebody. As much as i don't like Raymond hartley has been using him so i doubt they are thinking about sending him down. Jooris would be picked up on waivers. Trade Bollig maybe? Then there is the xmas trade freeze that complicates things. If Bouma comes back sooner than later, do the flames send Granlund down?

No more or less terrible than the Giordano deal, similar circumstances and cap hit. He's still a dominant, pesky shut down C. Not his fault their GM surrounded him with overpaid 3rd line talents and expect him to produce.

Ramo has been good lately not a chance he is sent down...Hiller on the other hand
