What the #### are you going on about now?
Ramo has been solidly posting good numbers since his string of starts. He had 33 SA g.aa of 2 tonight posting a .939 save %. He has been of lately the least of the flames problems. I would be way more concerned that the rest of the team went 1 for 7 on the pp.
I'm no apologist for Ramo of Hiller bit Ramo has been getting his #### together since he had that waiver wake up call. Credit where credit is due. He has been on point the last 6 games.
What a ####ing weird comment after a game where the Flames dominated 80% of a game from goalie to forward?

No, but he was implying you don't need top 15 goaltending. I was saying you do if your not an elite team

Given the atrocious start the Flames had this year and how poorly they were playing even two weeks ago, I thought they were done. Yet here we are on Dec 8 and they are now just 4 points back of 2nd place in the Pacific Conference - amazing.
The Flames defence is looking more like the formidable force we hoped they would be at the beginning of the year, Ramo is building some confidence, and the Flames can ice four legitamate forward lines.
And within a week both Bouma and Russell should be back. My pessimism may have been misplaced as this team begins to kick into a new gear!

Odd to think one good game here or there from Ramo means anything. We've seen who he is. He can have unreal nights. He isn't an NHL starter.

Oh man the Backlund goal after the sustained pressure got me so pumped!
I was actually more excited for that one than when hudler tied it up late last game
So nice to see hard work rewarded!

Ramo has allowed 4 goals or more in 33% of his previous 15 starts. That's inexcusable. He doesn't track the play like a #1 goalie and he lets in soft goals all the time because of it. His lateral movement is horrible, which is why he has to make so many circus saves.
The team is going to be very good. They have run the show three games in a row against some worthy opponents. They need a goalie.
Put it to you this way. In 2003-04, Roman Turek had a GAA of 2.33 and a save % of .914 in 18 games. Everyone knows that team wasn't getting out of 10th place unless Sutter gets Kiprusoff.
Get this team a goalie. Now.

When the Flames consistently dominate possession stats, power play stats, and have a stable salary structure in place where a good balance of core pieces are locked up long term, we can worry about getting a goalie.

Nonsense.
They're 4 points out and they have to leapfrog Vancouver and San Jose. Meanwhile, they've given up 4 goals 15 times - it's pretty clear where our biggest weakness is. And shoddy goaltending has a systemic effect on everything else. See every game Miikka Kiprusoff didn't start for about a decade.
We have no prospect on the verge of being a bona fide #1. What's the price for Freddie Andersen? Keep our first and OK/Rasmus/Hickey off the table, and get something done.

He got kipper because turek had a long term injury and rolling out Noodles as a starter was a recipe for disasters. Sutter looked like a genius given what Kipper became but I'm not convinced kipper is a flames that season if not for Turek going down.
