He's only played 11 games and only played over 12 minutes once. Although 39% of his time in those 11 games was spent with Hossa and Toews.

I'd take a chance and see if he shows anything, if not waive him.

John Quenneville can be weird sometimes. Barely gave Brandon Pirri a chance in Chicago and after Pirri was traded to Florida, Pirri becomes a 20 goal scorer.

We were interested this summer. And Treliving was in Arizona when they drafted him so some history with the player.

@THNRyanKennedy: Chicago, Tampa and Calgary all in the running for Viktor Tikhonov

I'd take a run at the Rangers for Kreider or Hayes. Big bodies with good skating ability and can finish. They aren't afraid to go to the dirty areas.

Are the Rangers wanting to move those players??

they're in a win-now mode, so if we could help them
Right now in a significant way - maybe we could get one of them? I'd love Hayes.

Rumours about Kreider have been floating around. Not sure on Hayes.

Not going to be cheap, but he would be a great fit.

Hayes is unlikely available. He can't sign an offer sheet and he doesn't have arb rights so the Rangers can keep him signed to a cap friendly deal.

Kreider on the other hand, if he asks for a lot and breaks the cap structure of the Rangers, he is a candidate to be moved.

Tikhonov was never given a fair shake in Chicago. There was this idea that anyone who plays on a line with Toews should either become an instant success, or is not worthy of playing time. He has the skill and size to become a solid supplemental piece, all he really needs is consistent linemates and minutes.

We have all been looking at how Treliving is going to ship out players. Maybe having a player come in, and supplant someone on the roster, is the catalyst for seeing some movement.

December is traditionally when we start to see some trades, just before the Christmas moratorium, and someone in the league has to get the ball rolling.

I think Tikhonov could supplant Jooris or Raymond without difficulty, and possibly make even more beloved players expendable, if he lives up to the ability he showed in the KHL, and the promise of his earlier shot in the NHL.

Krieder for Hudler would be great for the Flames. He adds size and speed to the top 6 and Hudler is a solid veteran for the Rangers cup run

Babchuk although technically he is from Ukraine.

Zyuzin if you won't accept Babchuk

Back on the blades this week is Flames LW Lance Bouma, who suffered a broken ankle in the third game of the season on Oct. 13. “It’s coming along,” Bouma said after being put through his paces. Said coach Bob Hartley: “He’s quite ahead of what they told us at the start.”

I would like to hear from some of the guys that follow the Stockton team closely, who they think is deserving at this moment to get a call-up?

I did hear Hamilton was leading in scoring, but i have not watched any games this year. Last time i was in the backburner thread ( a while ago, sorry) nobody seemed to be doing well.

Shore and Hamilton to me would be the most deserving of a call up right now. Grant also showed good earlier when he was up, but he's been pretty quiet down there the last few games.

Tikhonov stats don't look impressing just from the numbers but he would be intriguing for sure. Definitely history with Treliving and the interest this summer. I just don't know if we need to add an under performing guy. Don't we have enough of those at the moment.

I'd grab Tikhonov. He'd be cheap and a suitable replacement for Jones IMO.

As for Kreider, kick some tires, see if something works. He'd be useful.

Most Ranger fans will tell you, he has been pretty bad this season for the Rangers. However, hockey iq aside, he is a decent enough winger for the Flames to take a chance on.

The Rangers have cap issues coming up with Kreider, Yandle, Hayes, Miller, Etem and Raanta needing new contracts, This could be another situation like where the Rangers ended up trading Hagelin for Etem.
I'd love to pick up Kreider. He's big, he stirs things up, throws his weight around a bit; all things we could really use.
