If you want to compare hypocrisy, this is nowhere near the level of Stephen Harper.

  • He pledged government transparency and then led one of the most secretive governments in Canadian history.
  • He criticized the Martin Liberals for meeting Chinese leaders and "letting down" Tibet and Taiwan. Then as PM, he went on to make it easier for China to operate in Canada.
  • He pledged senate reform when the Liberals were in power, but then went on to appoint 58 senators, including some pretty scandalous ones.
  • He complained when the Liberals rescheduled Opposition Days. Then when he was PM, he cancelled and re-scheduled Opposition Days at least 3 times, including proroguing government to avoid non-confidence votes.
I am sure that those complaining about Trudeau using a service that was made available to him, as well as past PMs, probably didn't complain about the bigger issues of hypocrisy listed above.

CPC supporters spent the last 4 years listening to the majority of the country trashing the CPC at every single turn with every single issue, minor or major. It's not at all surprising that they now intend to spend the next 4 years doing the same to the LPC. It's what the GOP just did for 8 years with Obama after the Bush years. It's the whole "sports team" thing again, coupled with some bizarre "lets show them how it feels" approach. Of course considering US America is a total debacle because of this approach, it'd be nice to avoid it. Seems unlikely though.

Sorry guys, I forgot that because Harper sucked so much you can't point fault at JT for his "do as i say, not as I do".

Agreed, after nine years in office Trudeau has shown much better restraint and much better judgement his record speaks for itself.

Better get used to it, anything Trudeau does that is questionable will be trumped by, "but look what Harper did!".

I'll reserve my righteous indignation for when JT tries to strip away my rights and freedoms.

Holy crap, 6 pages blathering on about Trudeau's nannies? This is ridiculous, optics or not this registers so low on the "give-a-####" meter that it isn't even worth picking a side on. So what's next, the media jumps on Trudeau for chewing gum or for bowing too low to the Japanese prime minister? The Americanization of our politics really sucks

Agreed. This is small. We have bigger things to worry about than our PM having a nanny for his young kids.

Can I just say I love that we can refer to our PM as JT?

It makes me think of him as a 90s teen heartthrob on the cover of Tigerbeat.

I find it very comical.

I'm starting to wonder how many people posting in this thread are 19 year olds who are totally new to following politics. This is the sort of story the opposition and the media pick up on 100 per cent of the time. Regardless of the party. Since forever.

If you do a Google on Trudeau the 1st or 2nd result is the nanny thing so the give-a-crap meter is pretty high apparently, rightly or wrongly.

Correct.

It also makes it no less stupid.

As much as my party may wish it, this will not be an election issue during the next election.

If the CPC was smart, they would pull a Sanders and come out and say it is a non-issue as Justin is the Prime Minister.

The get credit for being the party that focuses on issues, not noise, and bringing Canadians together, when in the end, all they did was end and issue which wouldn't of given them any political cash anyway.

Why shut the thread down? Because not everyone agrees on something?

The thread would probably be on page 2 by now if the beliebers weren't trying to shout down anyone who says something mean about Justin.
