Over what? Kindness because he's stupid, or he's physically uncoordinated in sports, or his face looks like a pizza? Look, we all have our burdens to bear in life. Society doesn't owe you anything. High school's a good place to start learning that because it don't get any easier in the Big World.
A pretty good start to showing "Kindness and Sympathy" is to NOT SHOOT AND KILL PEOPLE.

How do you know that this was all that it would've taken to avert this tragedy? Maybe this guy twigged because people were TOO kind to him. Maybe his girlfriend broke up with him. Maybe he hated Richard Dawson. We'll never know.........I just wish this guy jumped off a bridge instead of committing this atrocity.

Yes we all do have burdens, and wouldn't it be alot easier if others would help you with those burdens.
Society holds a resposiblity to those who are part of it. If it didn't then it would be nothing but a bunch of indaviduals oblivious of everyone around them.

Acts like these are not justifiable but however they are preventable.
|
Right now I beleive this was a White Supremisist act. If that is the case, how was this preventable? This has nothing to do with how people have treated someone but to do with one's sick hate for other people

Ya all those "twigged" out npeople that just can't take kindness.
I wish that whatever reason he had for doing the shooting, never took place.

So has anybody called this guy a terrorist in the thread yet? Shouldn't this be considered an act of terror? Or are white guys devoid of this name/title?

Why? Because (as you posted earlier) "The people described as the shooters we're in all black, with mowhawks and numerous piercings"?
Just that leads you to believe the dude was a White Supremisist? I'm sorry but I find that totally ridiculous.

Yes but if we learn why he has such hate in him then we can try to prevent others from falowing the same path.
It was preventable though educating him about why his hatred is irrational and damaging to himself and society.

I'm going to have to agree with Kevan Guy here. Though this isn't the time to be arguing about this either I suppose. Since when does a mowhawk and numberous piercings make you a white supremacist? Until about a month ago I had a mowhawk, I have several piercings. I'm clearly not a white supremacist. Just a normal university student who likes punk music piercings and tattoos. A lot of my friends are preppy, does that make them something?
There is no evidence that its a white supremacist (maybe it is, we don't know yet), besides its not like they (as in white supremacists) all look exactly alike. What a ridiculous narrowminded comment.
Back to the topic at hand, what a disgusting cowardly act. I can't imagine what would drive someone to do this kind of thing. It will be interesting to learn about this situation as details come out.. I'd rather have the person suffer in prison then get the easy way out and die.

The question I have is: what is it about Montreal that causes this type of thing? This is the second time this has happened, the first time being that women's college where women were slaughtered. Don't get me wrong, I mean it's not the only place in the world where bad things happen, but in Canada, it doesn't happen often, and in Montreal, that's twice, and once was too many.

Fair enough, but now is the time to try and prevent this sort of thing from happening again.

Anyone who is capable of doing these types of things do not deserve anyhting in my view. I don't care about cause or effect. Plenty of people have crap happen to them in their lives they dont go out and kill innocent people because of it.

Ya but even if they don't deserve your time of day, The lives of innocent people could have been saved if we gave it to them anyways.

Jesus H. Christ. Someone's daughter/sister/lover is lying dead in a police morgue right now. Hell, the victim was in her 20s -- she may very well be someone's MOTHER.
All we hear from you is how being nicer to the weird kids will solve everything.
Grow the hell up.

I'd say because Montreal has the second largest population in Canada. More people, higher likelihood that these types of things happen.

You have a very twisted way of justifying things. You're essentially saying if a social outcast was bullied, and later shoots the people who picked on him, those bullies were justified in their bullying because the guy was a psycho. That's like saying its okay to break a TV, because the TV is broken, because you broke it. Your justifications are circular and absurd. In the end no one wins.
Mental health is a issue that needs to be addressed. If a kid has a contagious bird flu, if someone knows about it, panic would ensue to make sure s/he is quarantined and treated. Likewise, there should be more concern for oft-ignored mental health concerns like depression and anger management, or whatever else it may be.
