Ironically, I don't think anybody is giving any Thanks to Best Buy this weekend.
Tried again this morning. To sum up my experience, I think that I almost failed to buy the computer I was trying to get.

What CHL described with HP is what I went through with ASUS. My laptop couldn't stand up to simple note taking for college classes. A fan bugged out after about 3 months use, sounded like a helicopter. The battery burned out after a semester, the hard drive after a year.

Weird. I have two friends who are IT guys and gamers, and they both independently said ASUS is the way to go. I've had two or three of them and they've been great.

I honestly forgot about 'Black Friday' or whatever, I just purchased some office paper and a new printer for my office from Costco.ca and they emailed me today saying that the paper went down $10/case and my printer was like $125 off. So they refunded me that which was nice.
I've gotta start paying more attention to stuff like this.
