no problem with how they played today besides the defending on set pieces

our one season wonder striker seems to be scoring again

It was typical in that they couldn't finish a play to get that second goal and then inevitably conceded. People will say they played well, got the moral victory, yadda, yadda, but it's still two points lost.

Lloris? That was not pretty.

Lloris also had a couple of pretty nice saves that lesser keepers probably don't stop, so hard to fault him. The team did play well for the most part but the lack of killer instinct hurt them.

Interesting result in the Arsenal-Spurs game in that both are likely disappointed with the result Arsenal for not taking advantage of the City slip up and winning at home and Spurs because they were the better team for 80 mins of the game. But both teams probably got decent results Arsenal getting points in a game they were second best and Spurs getting a draw on the road against a top 4 team.

Spurs obviously should have score 2-3 more goals today but in years past I think they give up a injury time goal and lose that game. Positive signs so far this year but as Rube aludes to moral victories don't mean much.

Yeah I do agree that it sucks to not get three, and it's somewhat disappointing. At the same time, they haven't lost a game in the Premiership since opening day. That's pretty impressive considering they field such a young squad, and pretty clearly are doing a lot right. I guess I am set up perfectly for the letdown, because I think they can make the top four this season and will look back on the draw today and be quite happy about it in hindsight.

No he didn't play great today, even one of Girouds headers he just kind of backed in to the net

part of the set piece issues as well, the one giroud header that hit the cross bar he should have claimed

I would have brought Son on earlier too, when they were really going at them from about 60th to the 80th minute, the only thing they lacked was a bit more speed

Alli and Lamela were the only two of the front 6 who could beat a man with pace

Oh man...getting fired is that guy's stock in trade. You can take the man out of Everton but you cant take the Everton out of the man.

to be fair, it's only the second time he's sacked in his 17 year career as a manager. That's actually a brilliant record. Always admired the man when he was at Everton, but he simply wasn't anywhere close to being up to the task at United and it has hurt his reputation a lot. Pretty sure he'd still be good enough to manage one of the mediocre teams in the PL. Hope he'll find another job soon.

By the way, there are quite a few rumblings that Garry Monk is about to be sacked at Swansea. Would be a shame in my opinion, he's done brilliantly for the most parts.

The guy was never brilliant in his tactics. Hes a great manager for a mid-table club with a budget.

I thought Gary Monk has been excellent for Swansea thus far.

Moyes should go north, and replace that putz Mclaren.

Or take Jose's job,... again.

not a fan of Valencia at all, but ... that sucks.

Quote:
Antonio Valencia is facing five months out following foot surgery. Manchester United’s Ecuadorian ace was told the extent of the damage after the op.

Valencia, 30, damaged a bone above his left foot during last month’s 0-0 derby draw with rivals City. The winger did not realise how serious the problem was and may have made it worse by playing on through the pain.
not a lot of full back options left now. Shaw is obviously sidelined for a few months too, so it's Darmian and Rojo ... plus guys like Young and Jones who are way better in other positions. McNair could potentially play RB too, but ruptured his liver while playing for Northern Ireland last month and I have no idea when he can come back.

Wouldn't be surprised if United signed a new full back in January now.

Yet another example of what is wrong with modern football.

He CB'd though didn't he? For those games we need to rest Rojo, push Blind LB and Blackett CB?

I have to say, I think the fans may have noticed...
