Did you look up Arcobello and think "oh he's small and has put up a few points, he'd be a perfect Byron replacement!"? Because that is where the similarities end. Arcobello is not nearly as feisty or physical and he's terrible defensively.Arcobello is more like Gaudreau, but without the skill.

Our shooting percentage is currently bottom 5.
Last year Arcobello scored 15 goals, better than anyone outside of our top line except Bouma, who is out until 2016.
We're currently struggling to score outside our first line.
Could do worse (there is worse, in our roster every night). It's not like you're attached at the hip to him if you pick him up
Anyway it's moot as he cleared.

Our shooting % was top 5 last year, so I don't think we need another top shooting % from 14/15

I always kind of chuckle that a high shooting % is seen as a bad thing.
I mean I get it, but it's a bit ridiculous.

It's a good thing a player has a lengthy history of being able to replicate it (Stamkos), less so if they don't (Bouma)

Frolik is chopped liver now? He had more than 15 last year. Arcobello is not a good NHL player, there is a reason why he can't stick with the bottom feeders of the league. Him having 15 goals is like Nigel Dawes having 15.

And a high percentage combined with a high number of shots. Iggy was always up there in shots but had a decent percentage too. I guess that's how you score 50 goals. Or 30 goals 11 years in a row.

That's not what anyone in history has said. It's "I'm not paying that guy as a 20 goal scorer when it looks like it was a fluke"

Garrioch "rumors":

Ducks:
Murray trying desperately to make a roster move before someone gets fired.
listening to offers on Cam Fowler, but only will move him to the Eastern Conference and wants a boatload in return
Brad Treliving still wants to try to shake up his roster a bit
Boston has called more than one team looking for a defenceman
Avs GM Joe Sakic is willing to discuss any move
young players are untouchable
BJs called one Western Conference team about a young blue liner but was asked for Brandon Saad which killed the talks immediately
Blues are willing to move Carl Gunnarsson
Canes GM Ron Francis has been busy
Jeff Skinner's name is heard the most in trade circles
Ron Hainsey, Riley Nash, and John Michael Liles are also availble
Biggest decision will be what to do with Eric Staal
Sharks GM Doug Wilson appears to be in the hot seat after the Sharks have cooled off since their hot start
Leafs GM Lou Lamoriello might be looking around for goaltending

While I don't think Iginla is the answer, our current leadership group is not getting the job done this year.
Not sure what the difference is from last year, but something isn't happening right. It needs a shakeup.

Sure could use that secondary scoring. If there's one guy in the NHL that can handle the pressure of being brought in to score goals... It's iggy.

I rather see him going to a cup contender.
He needs to win a cup, and its not us.

Iginla would cost us more than we got when we traded him...yuck
He has almost 2 years under contract at a great price for his production.
1st rounder (probably 4th to 15th overall) if our luck doesn't change and a 3rd rounder or good young b level prospect defenseman (Hickey, Kulak etc.)
Probably changes the room for the worse, not because he is necessarily that type of guy but the young guys will be scared to say anything and grow in their leadership roles until he moves on in 2 years.
No Thanks

So Joe Sakic willing to discuss any move but young players are untouchable, so he's not willing to discuss anymore, right?
The guy who could be much better out of Toronto is Bernier. If the Leafs are looking for someone else the Flames should be looking at Bernier.

It's funny how a lot of GMs are looking for moves but no one is willing to give anything up to get it done.

Curious what the ask would be for Jeff Skinner considering he's probably overpaid at $6M per until 2019. I don't think I'd want him at this point, but curious what the asking price is.
