Hamilton isn't responsible for covering the Rangers defencemen. Seems silly to blame him when he took the pointblank scoring chance away from his man.

I miss Lance Bouma. This feels like one of those games he'd have had a snipe last year. Not a fan of Backlund-Frolik.

And now we're down. so frustrating.

The top line is literally our only source for offense.

It may not have directly been Hamilton's fault, but it doesn't help when he's covering nobody in the high slot.

The team is down but not for a lack of effort. If we apply this pressure in the third we should get it back.

No, but he is responsible for the puck being in our zone to begin with. Completely missed it along the boards at the start of that play. Reaching with his stick again. He seems very lazy to me.

True, it's usually the second mistake that results in a goal. But still, Dougie is visibly our worst player right now. He makes one good play for every three or four bad ones.

Give me a break, it's the game thread and I'm talking about the game. Hamilton has been worse than Butler out there tonight. He flat out is clueless defensively even if he is 22 should we not comment on anyone younger than 28?

Well, on the bright side

Period 1) Get outplayed, up a goal
Period 2) Outplay Rangers, down a goal

Got em right where we want 'em, just go get outplayed in Period 3.

I feel like we've played a pretty good game. If they can play a good third and we can get some solid goaltending I like our chances.

Frustrating as hell. Looked fine until the tying goal. I know Hamilton needs to do better, but the way it went in was lucky as hell. Hits Hamilton, deflects between Hiller's legs. He'd been performing fine up until that point as well. It's only 2-1 and the Rangers still look leggy from last night. Fingers crossed we can rally in the 3rd and get at least a point out of this game. It's there for us.

No? He was skating backwards as the guy was trying to push through him over a bouncing puck and then got caught with Bennett. If anything Bennett as LW should've been covering Giradi. Overall just a poor play by the Flames there. They'll get one if they continue what they're doing.

Why are so many using Hamilton's age as an excuse? Not blaming everything on him, but this is not some doe-eyed rookIe. This is what, his third or fourth season in the NHL?

Coverage had cycled and Bennett was down low, looked to me like Jooris should have had him.

It's a freaking fan forum, discussing points like a complete lack of secondary scoring seems to make sense...but no? Okay, thanks chief.

bennett is playing great just no luck. i feel once he gets one he'll get 20, just a matter of time. flames have been the better team but bad bounces against them. being down 1 heading into the third is all to common territory, hopefully we come back because we've earned it thus far.

Frustrating how many times we can't get the shot off.. Rangers are doing a good job keeping us from getting those shots in the prime scoring areas but boy if we could manage to get 1-2 of those off..
