What happens if there is a rain delay on Friday? Double header on Saturday or pushed till Sunday?

I would be pretty choked if they made us play Games 6 & 7 as a doubleheader in the ALCS...

The World Series doesn't start until Tuesday so I'm sure it would be Saturday and Sunday. The forecast looks pretty good for the weekend.

Agreed I haven't seen anything where the Ump said that - only Volquez saying he did - not the most reliable source...

I am not a fan of knuckleballer and R.A. Dickey so if he played his last game as a Blue Jays in Game 4 so be it. I am hoping the Jays re-sign both Estrada and Price. Estrada might be easier to re-sign and Price might be a little tougher but he seems to be enjoying his time with Jays right now so they might get a chance to sign him. I think Buerhle will be gone as well.
Anyways I can finally watch the Jays game on Friday because they don't play until 5pm. I missed the last few games due to work. Go Jays!!

As much as it's no secret that I dislike R.A. Dickey, having him as a #5 starter eating up ~200 innings isn't a bad thing.
I don't envision the Jays re-signing Price and as great as he as been (in the regular season) he wants term and a lot of money so it just doesn't make sense to me going forward.
Re-sign Estrada and pick up Hisashi Iwakuma and (in a dream world) sign Jordan Zimmerman too.

That knuckle is very hit and miss, but I think it's almost a no-brainer you bring Dickey back. One, he had a very solid 2nd half. Two, worst case he's a solid #5 starter. Three, the trade with the Mets would look even worse with the two young studs performing well....keep him to save some face. Four, it's easier bringing in a starter than said.
I'd be surprised if he isn't brought back.

The only thing with re-signing Estrada, is do you worry about him not being as effective without Navarro calling his pitches? Dioner is a free agent, and he is really unlikely to come back as #2 catcher. Either way though, starting pitching for next season is a huge question mark right now. Even if you bring back both Estrada and Dickey the rotation is really weak on paper.
Stroman
Estrada
Dickey
Hutchison
Sanchez
Hopefully being a solid playoff contender with pretty much all the bats and position players returning makes the Jays an attractive destination for some starting pitchers this off season.

The thought of Hutchison pitching makes me cringe. But like you said the big bats are returning next year so I don't see offence as a problem, so if Drew could just be league average in terms of numbers the Jays have a chance to win.
With Navarro, Buehrle, and Hawkins off the books this coming off season thats about 27 million dollars, plus Rogers is getting insane ratings for the Jays playoff games, like around 4 million per game, plus ticket sales and merchandise sales, and new season ticket sales surely they would open the purse strings a bit and address the pitching this off season with some free agents.

The key for me is Hutch. Was this year a bump, or a new reality. Prior to this year he was considered a big part of the rotation. If he gets his form back then
Stroman
Estrada
Dickey
Hutch
Sanchez
Isn't a bad rotation. I know people are down on Dickey right now - but over the course of a full season he's probably better than a lot of other #3 guys.
The key is can you actually re-sign Estrada. What is his appetite to stay? How much do you believe he can sustain this year going forward. If you answer that question wrong you could lock yourself into a very bad deal.

I had a friend in Toronto tell me there is now a waiting list for Jays season tickets. Seems unlikely to me given a 50K capacity, but he claims to be on such a list.

Osuna will be looked at as a starter next season as well I would guess.
Also with Dickey, much like Buerhle, his effectiveNess ismeasured as much in innings pitched as it is in wins and whip and such. He is a guy that helps save other guys arms through a long season. A real inning muncher that you need to have.

They must be misinterpreting the team's slogan of "Come TOgether"

I'm envisioning us winning game 6 and 7 then seeing Dickey get lit up by D'arnaud with Syndergaard pitching the lights out to win the World Series.

Maybe there's a waiting list for non-500 level?
EDIT: Nope. I could buy tickets right now if I wanted to. Tell your buddy the good news! https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/tbj...details/FSBJ16

Full world series schedule is up. Most of the games start at 6 Calgary time.
Might have to go Dickey game 4, but everything else plays out great with the 3 guys throwing 2 games on regular rest.

What are the chances Dickey comes in tonight and if they pull off the improbable game 7 as a relief guy should the starters poop the bed?

I think you would see Stroman before Dickey if things were getting out of hand early with Price.
Maybe Dickey in game 7 if they need him! Maybe even Estrada on short rest.
