Imax alone has already sold 6.5 million in pre-sale tickets.
The record is Avatar with 2.7 bilion. More recently, with bigger international markets, Jurassic World did 1.6 and Furious 7 did 1.5. The Force Awakens should have no trouble passing 2 billion.

Pretty good fan mashup cut for the trailers.

Did Trever Noah on the Daily Show really have to take down racists that were complaining about a black character in the new movie?

What's the main difference between the quality of Episode 6 vs. Episodes 4 & 5?
Based on the sizes I'm guessing that 4 & 5 are "uncompressed" muxes, and 6 compressed?

As soon as I saw the little rolling droid in the most recent trailer i just went "that toy is going to make them so much money it's not even funny".

Yeah. I was looking at investing in Disney purely based on this release, particularly after dropping 20 bucks a couple months ago.

What's the over/under on Daisy Whatsherface being as awful of a principal actor as Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen?

have Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, Sam Jackson, Liam Neeson, etc. acted so horribly wooden before or since the prequels? Hayden's career was ruined by Star Wars because he had nothing beforehand to back him up, but we'll never know how much of it was lack of talent vs elementary school screenwriting and direction.

Well, she has got the I-am-just-here-for-the-paycheque Natalie Portman vibe going for her, so...... I guess we will see if she is any better or worse than those who came before.
None of the Star Wars actors have been particularly stellar though. Hamill's Luke was pretty weak, but it all worked out, didn't it?

Nope. The thing is that George Lucas doesn't like working with actors, he likes creating a world and characters with CGI. I'm betting he was perfectly accepting of mailed in, first couple of take performances because he just doesn't care. A real director, you know, directs. Works with actors to pull out the performance he wants, Lucas just couldn't be bothered.

It seems like Lucas was actively, although not intentionally, directing them to act badly. He was trying to create this really serene vibe among the Jedi. Instead, it just seemed like they were all reading from telepromters. Then they would have these weird outbursts with awful dialogue:

I feel like Christsensen was limited by the poor screenplay and poor directing. Hell even somebody like Sam Jackson came off as just boring in those movies.
He nailed some of that role though. The walk, some of the mannerisms, and some of the physical moves he made were great. It was the dialogue that killed the role.

4 and 5 use the 2011 Blu-Rays as the primary source, while 6 uses the 2004 DVD release as it's primary. Side by side though on my PC they all look excellent, Harmy has done such a masterful job that you have to be a total video and audiophile to appreciate the differences in the versions
As for sizes the versions I have are all under 3GB, which is what you expect out of a 720p release. If you're downloading something bigger you're just wasting your time

So is the 18GB version in this post a fake, or do you just mean that most people can't tell the difference? http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/top...W/topic/12713/
18GB sounds about right for a straight remux, although I haven't ever used a 720p remux before.

The 18gig 1080p version is not a fake. It is a large file yes but about right to eliminate any possibility of codec artifacts.

I have some Disney stock, and am banking on a successful movie!
I think now is a good time to buy, as DIS stock is rising the last little while.

Plus with their park addition of Star Wars Land coming up for the first 2-4 years after that their park attendance will sky rocket... although when I was there it didn't seem to be hurting.
