Look, don't get me wrong, I think Hartley has been excellent here, I love the guy, but every coach has to go eventually. It was merely a suggestion to generate discussion, which frankly I think is valid after a 1-5 start.
We also have to remember that this team, despite what they were able to accomplish last season, are still a bottom 10 team on paper.

Granted, they shouldn't be playing this listless, but I don't think Hartley is the problem right now (even if I would prefer he'd given Ortio a shot by now).

It was tongue in cheek a little. Start blaming the coach for every game and thats oiler territory.

They better not be. As frustrating as it is as a fan base to potentially have to re-align expectations and potentially accept that last year was fluke, the last things the Flames should do it get desperate to "save the season" or let last year throw them off kilter. Best thing for them to do is accept that they might not be as far along as we hoped and accept this is year two of a rebuild and make the appropriate moves. Trade Hudler and Russell for value and prospects at the right time, but do not make any panic moves.

I'm so glad they didn't give up the 2016 1st rounder.

Did someone make a wish on a mystical amulet on Saturday and switch this team's spirit with the Oilers?

Switch it back!!!

Interesting to see McLean totally agree with my thoughts on the 2nd goal. Hamilton stepped off and can shoulder so blame. Yes Ramo should have held it, but Hamilton made the wrong decision.

This is déjà vu with Bouwmeester. Jeez

Panels were never "all over" the defensive game of Bouwmeester. But Hamilton and Wideman have been soft.

That's true, perhaps my excitement before this season just makes this extra disappointing...

Accidentally typed Wideman, ninja edited and hoped no one would notice...

I choose to remember that when they were out working and out competing the opposition last season they were a top 10 team...on the ice.

Well the panel just rightly tore a strip off of Hamilton. 2 brutal mistakes to cause goals and a penalty as well.

Don't know what he has played like in the past, but he better start to get his head in the game.

Agreed, and he needs time to be allowed to develop. I think a lot of fans were expecting Johnny Hockey impact from him immediately though, but that's not his fault. Just another example of us having to re-align expectations.

The Washington guy thinks it's thr best 2nd period he has seen from the capitals, and that includes all the games from last year. Flames aren't playing well, but it sounds like Washington is also having a great game which is making us look even worse

When Brodie gets back, I actually would be more interested seeing what he could do paired with Hamilton.

Gio-Russell
Brodie-Hamilton
Wideman-Kulak
