The people of Alberta need to overthrow the NDP. I'm sure they have a small fraction of the support now as compared with election night.

The Liberal popular vote has regressed slowly throughout the night; by the end of the night it'll probably be below 40%.

Trudeau says he'll look at electoral reform; hopefully he's serious about it.

I really hope one of Hehr and grant get in to give us better representation among the Liberal majority government.

If there was any doubt before tonight ( and I don't think there was), it's now pretty clear the provincial NDPs have effectively no support in this province.

Nice too see for sure. I live in Calgary Heritage and voted Liberal, so basically threw my vote away.

11% of popular vote in Alberta for NDP. So much for any swing to the left in this province. Even.federally, considering the conservatives incumbent position and desire for change, the NDP turns out to be the big losers tonight. This is a solid vote for change, but certainly not really a move across the left-right spectrum.

As a Calgarian, we need some representation in cabinet or at least an MP in the government so we can share in some of the goodies that will be dished out.

That 116th poll reporting was a doozy for Hehr. This is super tight again.

Sure it would. No government is actively trying to screw any Canadians. It's really hard to act in a groups best interest if they don't have a voice at the table. A guy like Matt Grant would have likely been in the cabinet, tasked specifically with representing Alberta.

Yeah, again, I hope the orange up in Edmonton are taking huge notice of this. Them getting elected here was our protest vote, just like the NDP taking QC in 2011 was their protest vote. Their reign will be just as short if they don't start doing some work that has this province's best interest in mind.

Bye-bye Tom, bye-bye Olivia, the house that Jack built just burned down. At least a liberal majority means that they will not need the NDP to prop them up.

Grant still in it down 1,000 votes with 50 polls to come. Needs a big finish obviously.

Even right after the NDP win, the federal NDP was polling below 30%. Albertans never supported the Federal NDP, and I think the only reason we even considered NDP is because we had a conservative federal government, so the tax hikes weren't going to be as crippling as if there was a higher taxing federal government. I wouldn't project too much onto the provincial NDP from the federal voting.

Pretty happy that my vote helped get Liberal representation to Ottawa from Calgary.
