Just throw the pitch, calling time doesn't matter.

I think that's why the Jays are protesting it. The ump waving it off, saying no no no.......all the Jays on the field just give up on the play. He would have scored anyway, but the Jays just gave up because the ump was waving it dead.

That is an ugly scene. I can understand people being upset on such a weird play, but I don't see how throwing beer cans onto the lower Decks risking people's safety makes any point other than the fact that Toronto's newest baseball fans are idiots.

The WAVE OFF.
Why is nobody on the broadcast talking about the home plate ump WAVING the play dead as Odor was running home??

Might be the right call based on rules but if it is they need to change it.

The rule is not unbelievable. Onus is on the catcher to get the ball back to the pitcher. What's unbelievable is that the play was blown dead and Toronto not given a chance to play defense, even if they wouldn't have got to it anyway.

Hypothetical:
Say the Jays come back to win now...could the league technically say the game was under protest and make them come back and play from that point again...because if so that would probably be the most Toronto way to lose ever.

Are you serious??? So are you implying that the fact that the ump waved the play dead before the guy crossed home plate means nothing!

#### yeah. If we get a pinch runner, do they have to replace that player in the field? If not, I'd like to see Martin taken out at 2nd for a faster guy.
