I got a copy of Mad Max a few weeks ago with very little knowledge about it. I was playing games late and decided I would throw this on and probably just fall asleep watching it anyway. From start to finish the movie was just a roller coaster of action that would not stop, it didn't give me any downtime that would even let me think about sleeping. Great movie and highly recommended.
Edit:
What is the quality of movies on steam? I just looked and they want $15 each for the 3 older movies and I can get the trilogy at Walmart for $4.99 on DVD seems like a no brainer since I'm having troubles finding a couple other ways
I have no idea and honestly, I am still one of those weird people that buys movies on Bluray. Sounds like it's a streaming online thing which I find kind of odd. Actually, there appears to be a trial/demo on the store page.
The pricing isn't great but I am more interested in the possibility of super cheap movies during Steam sales.

I doubt you'll see any movies on Steam for sale like the games. Valve has almost total control of the digital game marketplace and that lets them push their aggressive sale pricing. With movies they're a bit player, and I don't think studios would let them push their prices below the physical media. They also don't allow you to download and keep a local copy of a movie, just online streaming only. That is a deal breaker IMO
Due to a hectic life I didn't get to see this in the theater.
I am a huge Mad Max fan. The Road Warrior is, IMO, a great big of film making.
I am going to watching this on the weekend.

Yeah I didn't get a chance to see it in the theatre so I picked up the Blu-ray yesterday to watch this weekend. I don't buy much discs anymore but I have a feeling this one will be a keeper.

After watching the Blu-Ray, while still a fantastic movie, those who didn't get to see it in the theater really missed out. It's such an audio heavy movie with such a fantastic score that it really benefits from a big screen sound setup. I remember the first time the Doof Warrior was on screen with his flaming guitar and the pounding drums behind him rocking the whole theater, I was in awe

Great movie, loved the throw backs to the originals as well. I had seen on imdb at some point that Mel Gibson was credited in the movie as a "drifter" so I guess they were planning to give him a cameo, but obviously took that out.
I think that I did miss out not seeing this in the theater, but glad I got to see it at all. I thought it was a true testament to the 80's style in that it was a bit complex and made you think/draw some conclusions based on sparse information. If you paid close enough attention the details were there to form the background on the world Max had found himself in. But the movie just moves so damn fast you find yourself almost scrambling along with Max through the adventure putting the clues together. It wasn't all watered down overly complicated for the sake of being complicated Chris Nolan style, but a true blue action flick. Watching this right at the end of reading Ready Player One was the perfect combination and very refreshing.
I can has more please?

Not a chance. To get nominated the studio/director/etc need to pander to the academy, and part of that is having a theater release fairly close to the awards show. Mad Max will be long forgotten about by the time the actual nominations get done
