Here's something I'd like to see... not sure if it will be in this year's game but I would love to see it:
You, as GM, will select for every player at the end of the year, which attributes or aspects of the game he must work on during the offseason. That way, if Iginla's passing was off one year, you could designate that as his #1 priority, and then give him your #2, and #3 or whatever.
That would be something I'd like. There is not enough GM-to-player interaction, IMO.

Darren McCarty is the highest rated hitter at 97. Phaneuf at 96, Iginla at 94 and regehr at 90.

I'm looking forward to the game but yes, we'll all still have our frustrations. One day the perfect NHL game will come out.

NHL view my friend, lets you change the stats of any player and you can bring back players from retirement too

I can’t wait for the new hockey games. Saying that the cheaters are getting annoying is a huge understatement.

Theodore is still rated above 90...yikes. And Roloson at 91...above Cam Ward (a hair under 90)...right. They do need to fix those ratings (if the game lets me, I'll do it myself) but damn...Kiprusoff deserves his 95. Warrener shouldn't be rated so low (Marc Andre Bergeron is rated as a 78? Let's hope his defensive awareness is non-existent in the game like in real life) either way, this is the first EA hockey game I've looked forward to since 2Ksports 2k3 came out (the CPU AI is hard to beat...they seem to have ruined it after that year too) I hope all the talk about "It's not easy to score" or "you can't just skate up the wing like before" is all true.

Worst. Ratings. Ever.
Auld rated 79, rated worse than Conklin (80) and his former backup Noronen (82) and stupid old Belfour (84) and only one better than inferior McLennan (78).
Bertuzzi rated higher than Jokinen.
Nathan Horton (79), who had 28 goals last year for 47 points on the first line, is rated worse than 3rd liner Niko Dimitrakos (80) who had 9 goals and 25 points.
Ric Jackman the same as Bouwmeester.
How are Roberts and Nieuwendyk still 88 while Horton is 79.
And thats just the Panthers.....
Do they even watch hockey?

If they're still doing what they used to do they have a third party company doing the ratings. I cant remember the name of the company but they're suppose to specialize in rating players for sports games.

Man, Auld got royally served by EA. He helped them make the goalie animations, and only deserves a 79...

Wow NW games should be fun.
Liprusoff 95.9
Luongo 93
Roloson 91.9 (can anyone blame them for giving him a high rating...essentially 2 of the alst 3 season with a ~0.930 SV% and these past playoffs he was simply outstanding).
Theodore 90.9 (this is the one i question)
Fernandez 86.0....the weak sister of the bunch for the game

haven't played the EA series for awhile but during a career mode do the ratings increase and decrease as they do in the Fifa series?

It depends on the line chemistry and potential.

Cheers. Sort of like Fifa (and winning eleven for that matter). Young players increase as they age and gain experience. Hopefully older players lose skills ans then retire.

ya that's exactly how it works. though i think every time i've started a 2nd season in any NHL game for the past few years they've always had Chelios retiring right away. even the computer thinks he's just too old

Question regarding the XBOX360 and NHL2006/2007.
With the controller, can you use the D-pad to control player movement?
Or does one need to use that nubby mushroom thing?

I think I remember them saying it'll still support normal controls but they would like people to atleast try the analog sticks.

Here's a video on how the controller is used in the game...
Looks like it'll take some getting used to, but it looks pretty sweet...
Can't wait for this game!
