I've seen a few and the PC, Xbox and PS2 graphics are pretty much the same as NHL 06.

ya i honestly thought i'd never own another console, and if they made the PC version next gen as well i probably still wouldn't, but i just cannot miss out on this game. so now i head to Futureshop tomorrow to pick up the 360 bundle and grab Dead Rising while i'm there

Yeah, had they made the PC version next gen chances are I wouldnt have got one either.

I've been interested in getting a console since probably the beginning of last year but I was going to wait for a price drop on the 360 or PS3 and then decide which one had the better selection of games. But then I saw how good NHL 07 was looking and the deal I could get at Futureshop for a 360 so I decided to get it now.

There's a good chance I may go back to the PC for hockey gaming next year if they make the PC version next gen because of graphical mods but there will still be other games I'll get that I cant play on PC.

If you watch today's epside of Gamespot "On The Spot" there's some footage of NHL 07 about 5 minutes in. It doesnt look like pinball hockey at all.

I've been following this game ever since I saw the controls. Left stick = skating. Right stick = stick control. Including shooting etc. I thought of that a long time ago, and have wanted that forever. I've always been a 2Ksports fan for hockey as it's a more realistic game. This time, EA has built it from the ground up, and there are a LOT of hockey fans working on the game, and are all excited by it. This is the first time I've ever seen EA showing excessive gameplay action in their games. The AI is better (can't just skate up the boards and get into the zone EVERY time like you could before). Unless there is something really wrong, this game is going to be a huge hit.

The game looks sweet but there's definetely going to be a hefty handful of nitpicks but that's to be expected considering it's a first run of a new engine. But so far, pretty solid.

Any idea what the minimum requirements will be for the PC version?

One thing that is very small but caused me no end of stress was the fact that in 2006 (or 05 cant remember..), when scrolling through names of guys, your bar starts at the top as per usual. Nothing wrong with that. But if the guy your looking for is at the bottom of the list of names... it takes like 3 years to get down there. You cant scroll up and start at the bottom, and each click down the list takes like 20 minutes.

same as NHL 06. the PC isn't getting the same game that the XBOX 360 is, as silly as that may be. it will be getting the same version that the PS2 and original XBOX get

Kipper is rated a 99!!! He's gonna be unbeatable in this game...has anyone ever been rated a 99? That's insane..

Uh.. No he's 95 actually if you look closely. Still highest rated goalie in the game .

Wow, no love for Regher only rated 80...maybe Oilers was right that him and staios are on par. Phaneuf rated 89 is pretty crazy.

Nilson at 75, lower than McCarty? Amonte still at 82? Kobasew at 74, a 20 goal scorer? And why, oh why, in every game, is Warrener rated so poorly...
I'm looking forward to the game but yes, we'll all still have our frustrations. One day the perfect NHL game will come out.

they try and label Phaneuf as a Defensive D-man and STILL rate him higher than Regehr? i just wish EA had more actual hockey experts who cover all the teams to come up with their ratings
EDIT: jesus christ, Roloson rated at 91!? i know watching the interviews that some of the developers were Edmonton fans, but try to keep the bias in check just a little
