That stadium is also not that far from the Kerby station so you would get a bit of a split of fans going to both stations. Then they'd all realize (wtf?) that it's the same line. The east bound at Sunalta, and the west bound at Kerby would get empty trains. The others would be screwed.

I think that yellow dot in the map pic is the station actually.

Sunalta Station is one of the nicer and larger stations around and if the Banff Trail Station can handle transit after a Stamps game, Sunalta Station should do just fine.

It'll be the poor north-south people who have to change trains now, after all the years of the east-west people doing so for games.

Yeah sorry, I took a closer look and it seems that if the stadium goes above 9th ave, you'd be minutes away. I also assume the connector to the station would not require for you to walk on the road then go up stairs as it is currently required.
The station would be closer to the greyhound and closer from our POV that yellow dot. My mistake. I would guess it's the top left of the stadium in the rendering pic and not in the middle of the two buildings.

There is already a reasonably wide bridge from the station across the Canadian Pacific tracks that was built with the station, and then a narrower bridge goes across Bow Trail to the Greyhound station.
I'd imagine that a new bridge over Bow Trail could be built with the arena to replace (or exist in addition to) the narrow one.
The station itself can't be any worse than Victoria Park, where much of the platform is taken up with the star/escalator enclosures.

Getting to the games should be no problem - maybe 10 minutes on my bicycle.
Getting back after drinking all those stadium beers might be the issue.

Hopefully the mixed use development around the Arena/Stadium will host a number of restaurants and bars that people can go to after the game, which will lighten traffic and transit demands after a game.

The idea is to have one place people can go to see the updates and announcements; without having to go through all of our back and forth.

Haha, good luck with that.

The train better go directly into the station. I'm assuming that by the time this is built I'll be too old to swig hard liquor to stay warm for the 15 minute walk from the train to the rink in -30 in order to stay warm.

According to the Sun and flames.com, the event (at least the one they'll be streaming) doesn't start until 2:30MDT.
Are all those old guys just there early for the Nicki Minaj concert, or is there more than one event?
