You are misunderstanding his post. He is saying that the larger the attendance at McMahon, the worse the concourse and crowding are. McMahon specifically, not all stadiums.

This. Been to many 50k + NFL games with zero concourse/bathroom/concession issues.

I guess I should qualify what I am asking for. I am currently in the greens; which are also a great value for the money paid. My concern is that they get rid of the black, green, and orange price levels- leaving blue as the cheap seats. Then add on an extra 20% increase for the new arena, and all of a sudden my $40 per seat cost shoots up to $100; or more.

That's where I go back to saying that I would rather attend 25 games at the Saddledome than 5-10 at a new arena. At the end of the day I am there to watch live hockey at the top level. (NHL level.) Nevermind that seeing 25 games for the same price as 10-12 games at the new building is a better return on my entertainment dollar.

It's nice to see the general excitement to the idea of an MLS team. That was not the case a few years ago. I really think Calgary would support it no problem. Add in a big name designated player and make it happen!

I'm wondering this too as I just bought into a pair of season tickets in PL.

Plus who in their right mind goes to a stamps game to sit on a metal bench in the worst corners of the building?

I love sitting over there. . Usually get a good group together and make a party out of it. Lots of beers and high fives. Pretty good action in the stands and more babes than you'd expect. It is slightly better than hitting up a patio when the weather is nice.

Critics cite concerns over arena proposal location, funding
http://calgaryherald.com/news/local-...cation-funding
Coun. Evan Woolley, whose ward includes the area, says the west village needs an “incredible amount of remediation,” which would cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
“The land is worth negative money, we can’t have kids playing in sandboxes in the west village right now,” he said.

Clicked the link. Went directly to Foo Fighters review. Sorry I missed it. Sounds like it rocked.

Critics will always find a place to be negative. Shouldn't we give KK the benefit of the doubt until he actually presents something?

This is why I think the project has stalled. Hundreds of millions of dollars to remediate the creosote contamination on that site. Whose going to pay for that? The AB Cons were, but then they got pushed out. The fed Cons? Who knows if they're going to be in the mix past October. The City certainly doesn't have the money, and the Flames don't either.

On the other hand, a project like this may be exactly what is needed to get the area cleaned up. Evan should be all over this.

It's gonna have to be cleaned up eventually, so might as well do it now and start having that land live up to it's potential.

I would love if someone can clarify the following for me.
 1. What is creosote?
 2. Who contaminated this land?
 3. What are the effects of creosote on humans?
 4. How does it enter the body?
 5. What does remediation of this land look like?

I can't get a straight answer on this anywhere. If someone knows and is willing to share this information, that would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding is that through various acquisitions and mergers over the years, Canada Creosote is now owned by Domtar. From what I've read, Domtar doesn't currently have any business operations in Alberta, so it's virtually impossible to go after them to pay for the decontamination.

		| According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), eating food or drinking water contaminated with high levels of coal tar creosote may cause a burning in the mouth and throat, and stomach pains. ATSDR also states that brief direct contact with large amounts of coal tar creosote may result in a rash or severe irritation of the skin, chemical burns of the surfaces of the eyes, convulsions and mental confusion, kidney or liver problems, unconsciousness, and even death. Longer direct skin contact with low levels of creosote mixtures or their vapors can result in increased light sensitivity, damage to the cornea, and skin damage. Longer exposure to creosote vapors can cause irritation of the respiratory tract. |
Sounds pretty nasty. And just sitting by the Riverbank apparently where rafters and families are allowed to use the river.

Call me odd but I prefer sitting in the cheap seats at sporting events. Unlike sitting in the cheap seats on a plane or at the theatre, the atmosphere does make up for it.
