Whatever they do, I do hope the football stadium/fieldhouse can hold more than 30K. Yeah I get some of these new Canadian stadiums are smaller, but some of these cities aren't comparable.
In a nice stadium and with a better fan experience, Stamps should be able to comfortably draw in the mid 30's, shouldn't they?

Of course it will. It will have to be able to host the Grey Cup. People thinking this will be less than 33,000 without capabilities of expanding for Grey Cups are misinformed

Expansion fee will be north of $100M for a new MLS franchise. Not sure how that will be financed.
I don't see how Flames SEG can pay for that and the actual arena/field house/athletic gathering place.

If the stamps were forced to pay 100mil to enter the CFL today would they exist? Obviously no, would a MLS team out draw the stampeders by enough to justify that expense? Doubt it.

Plus who in their right mind goes to a stamps game to sit on a metal bench in the worst corners of the building?

I'm sure the new stadium would draw more fans in, including me as its a new facility that can accommodate an entertainment district and I can walk to downtown within walking distance after the game

I would go to more stamps games for sure. I do not enjoy the stadium experience right now at all. Sucks to be blunt

It looks pretty consistent with recent years. In fact, against the same opponents, this year looks like it's up a bit over the last couple.
The Eastern teams don't draw as well as the Western (and Winnipeg was in the East for most of recent history). The Lions don't draw as well as the Esks and Riders. After this week, all of their remaining games are against the three traditional Western teams, so the numbers should be pretty good the rest of the way.
The CFL's website has attendance numbers going back to 2005, and in that entire time, the Stamps haven't had a regular season game with attendance below 25,000. In that same time, they've had numerous games over 30,000 and many over 35,000.
I'll be very surprised if the new building isn't a 35,000 base capacity, expandable to 50,000 (like McMahon is now).

Could Care Less

I would consider myself a casual Stamps fan, but I rarely go to games. I'd go to way more if they were played in a nice new facility, in the heart of a cool entertainment district downtown with bars and restaurants all around. I think probably most casual fans feel the same way. McMahon is terrible and I'd rather watch at home. The Flames on the other hand I'd watch live anywhere.

I'm the exact same way.
I'll usually watch about 5 to 8 Stamps games per season and all playoff games. I've never been compelled to go to McMahon Stadium to watch a game, but would go if the weather is nice and I'm given free tickets. A new state of the art Stadium would probably change that for me and might make a die hard fan out of me (maybe).
An MLS team on the other hand would make me a die hard fan from day 1.

My thoughts exactly. Casual fan, but would definitely go to some games if it was a better experience. I stopped going to sit outside on a metal bench, at a stadium that isn't convenient for me, where the washrooms and concessions are terrible, a long time ago.
Better stadium and I would start going again. For the right experience, I might even get STs.

I would probably get season tickets for the Stamps in a new stadium as I can only handle a handful of games at McMahon annually. Standing in line forever to get a beer while the game is ongoing sucks and I don't even want to get into the washroom situation especially if you are bringing young kids with small bladders. The closer the attendance gets to 30k the worse the actual stadium experience is because the concourse can't handle that many people.

Something worth noting- Stamps STHs received the same invitation as Flames STHs; for sessions to be held on Wednesday. I think that makes it a pretty safe bet that we will see something with regards to a new stadium for the Stamps.
Myself, I will be pleased if one of the following is shown on Tuesday:
- Location of the new facility
- General description. For example how many seats, how many cheap seats, what improvements we will see in concessions, washrooms, and parking.
- Timeline and budget
and/or
- Detailed plans, or at least artists conceptions of what the new facilities will look like.
- Timeline and budget.
I recognize that this could just be the proverbial "throwing of a bone" that we have all been asking for, so I have set my expectations so that I will hopefully walk away happy.

Yeah, at the STH event in June King mentioned there would be no third tier so those that had PL1 will no longer have some of the best valued seats in the house. Which sucks because I am in the first row there. That being said, a new stadium would probably equate to similar if not better sightlines with better amenities/concessions. So win/win in my books. Just have to see where that price range puts you in the new stadium.

It's clear that McMahon has been the detriment of stamps attendance numbers, despite the fact that they still get almost 30k regularly.
I think they should build a 45k seat stadium, with maybe an upper ring of seats tarped off in such a way that it looks like it's part of the building. Then for premium games or special events, cough, opening ceremonies for the Olympics, cough, you have a 45k seater ready to go.
The last time I was at McMahon was the 2011 Heritage classic. The concourse actually came to a halt; people were simply unable to move. I saw multiple guys pissing in corners or behind differnt kiosks and such due to the crowds. The ATMs froze, as did the cc terminals at the vendors themselves. Entire stadium, cash only. I missed out on one of those stupid, yet charming mohawk flames toques because they couldn't take my money.

Huh? how about more concourse areas and washrooms?
I had little problems at Mile High or Century Link and they are 80k stadiums.
