Not really relevant to the campaign, but did anyone else know that "You're either with us or with the paedophiles" Vic Toews got a 17 year-old pregnant?

Interesting tweet from SW Saskatchewan's NDP candidate, dug up from July of 2012. It's getting a lot of action since last night:

Trevor Peterson not know that Saskatchewan has oilsands as well?

Or is he suggesting that only Alberta oilsands ... er tar sands ... be land locked and Saskatchewan's be allowed to move?

(tongue firmly in cheek)

That will fix it, because deleting your twitter account totally erases it from the internet.

Wow, I only expected him to delete the tweet. Didn't think he'd delete the entire account.

He was commonly known as the Tories' Minister of Family Values and was a vehement defender of traditional marriage, i.e. marriage is between a man and woman. I guess he left out the "and their babysitter" part.

Why is it that these puritanical types always get caught with their pants down?

Classic politician with foot-in-mouth syndrome, followed by using the home remedy his mother probably suggested would help solve things (but never does).

My main voting issue will be based on whoever opposes the TPP the most, as it just gets worse with every new piece of information that comes out

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/leak...-say-1.3183668

So far Muclair seems to be the only one publicly denouncing the whole thing, so I guess i'm pro-NDP

Don't worry, TPP apparently also contains requirements on state owned enterprises that would effectively force privatization of the CBC among others, do you won't get these troubling news reports in future.

The debate didn't have the viewership that the old consortium debates had.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/...ticle25910569/

Too much apathy, too early in the campaign, wrong time of the year or inaccessible to too many people?

My guess is that early August isn't a great time to convince people to sit at home and watch a debate. Plus, it's still very early in a very long campaign.

If I hadn't seen it mentioned in this thread, I wouldn't have even known it was happening last week. Because most shows are in re-runs, I don't watch a lot of regular tv during the summer. If there were ads for it, I didn't see them.

You'd think that after the provincial ndp Facebook and Twitter stuff that they would have vetted everyone's Twitter accounts for anything that might be contriversial.

Another case of poor vetting, NDP'er linking Israel to war crimes, claims to have been smeared.

I remember Harper had bad times trying to keep his candidates on board with the party line with far worse gaffes than this. If and when Harper is gone watch all the crazies come out in the CPC.

Speaks to the Canadian political climate that a guy has to be removed from candidacy for basically agreeing with the U.N.

Personally, I find it disappointing that this is the case.

Well don't sugar coat it, are you saying you think Israel is guilty of war crimes?

The UN is one of the more corrupt organizations on Earth.
