He has 32 points this year and is +5 on a bad Avs team. On pace for nearly 60 points this season.
Check facts before you hate.
Except it is not that bad of a team, he has unreal line mates and ice time, and once the Av's are mathematically eliminated or he plays with line mates he doesn't like he will either float and not care or fake an injury. That is his M.O. So you are on board with Poirier turning into a crybaby quitter? No thanks.

What the what are you talking about?
Because Poirier is French he is 35 year old Tanguay complacent?
That's just plain stupid.

I remember watching an interview with Poirier after one of his games last season where he scored. He was almost in tears about how he would do anything for the logo.
The guy is gonna be awesome. He is my favorite/most intriguing prospect.

I'd love to see it if you could dig it up and post it here?
IMO he will be a maniac on this team. Fans are going to love him. Bouma, Backlund, Poirier 3rd line will be killer someday.
If he's Gelinas, he's not a bottom 6 player. Gelinas was over 20 goals 5 times and over 30 a couple times, some in the dead puck era. And was traded for Gretzky (hah).
I would expect that the Flames brass is hoping to see several of the young bucks step up and make a statement in camp. I think they expect Poirier to push Jones out of the lineup, Arnold to push Stajan out of the lineup, Agostino to push Bollig out of the lineup, and Wotherspoon push for the Smid spot. That would also mean that Byron is probably pushed out of the lineup as Bennett and Granlund are likely making the team. Should give Treliving some interesting pieces to trade for draft picks or improvements in other areas. Should be an awesome camp this year and probably lead to some heated discussion when cuts come.
I will admit, I have yet to see the potential in Poirier. Sure he can put on speed, but haven't seen much else. Hope I am wrong, but still unsure about him.

20 goals, 40+ points, AHL all star selection, all in his rookie pro season? Not much to see here. Move along.

I have high hopes for this kid. Don't think he starts the season in Calgary, but I believe if he has a strong camp he could be the first call up and stay
