Important to remember here that the top 3 picks are all determined by lottery next year.

Not sure why the Leafs aren't all over this with one of Reimer or Bernier.

			Wait
Did Martin Jones get a better return than Cam Talbot and Eddie Lack combined?

just goes to show how valuable powerforwards are. after an off year with a suspect contract Lucic is still worth a ton.

Lombardi is crushed. Worst part is that Sweeney looked him right in the eye and told him that he wanted Jones on his team.
NHL should void this trade and the previous one, and give Jones back to LA.

Raise your hand if you have the goalies ranked in this order
 Lehner
 Jones
 Talbot
 Lack

Last year's stats for the goalies traded:
 Lack: 27 - .921 svpct 41 GP Traded for 3rd and 7th
 Talbot: 27 - .926 svpct 36 GP Traded for 2nd, 3rd, and 7th
 Jones: 25 - .906 svpct 15 GP Traded for 1st and prospect
Lehner: 23 - .905 svpct 25 GP Traded for 1st round (with cap dump)

 The returns make little sense.

At least with Lehner he is a little younger so more room to grow, but Jones isn't much younger than Talbot or Lack.

Yeah when you lay it all out that way, doesn't seem bad at all.

Funny for L.A. they trade Jones far away from the division, and then 4 days later he's just down the road.

Overpayment for a guy with only 34 games in the NHL. Hopefully it fails miserably for the Sharks.

Thank God we stayed away from the goalie market... The price for all these back-ups is absolutely ridiculous.
A team like San Jose should not be trading 1st round picks... What a terrible move...

It doesn't look bad like that, but the selections with those 3 first rounders definitely tarnishes it.

The GM gets the picks, the scouts use the picks, and it's too soon to blame him for their scouting practices at this point.

Besides, it's a little early to call those picks busts |
