Wow. Great return, could easily be a top 3 pick if the Sharks decline continues and they win the lottery. Kind of a big risk on San Jose's part.

Milan Lucic fetched more of a return than Dougie Hamilton

Maybe the Hamilton return wasn't so great for the Bruins but wow the Lucic return maybe makes up for it

Solid return for the Bruins. Jones will be good for the Sharks as well.
Typical Edmonton driving up the price for everyone else.

I hope that Sweeney now trades the 1st for Bryan Bickell, to keep the Good Don/Bad Don thing going.

wow. that SJ first rounder could land just about anywhere. They were a pretty meh/bad team last season, not sure if there is hope for large improvement this year.

You'd think with the new draft setup where every non-playoff team has a shot at #1, regardless of the odds, that lottery protection would be a given on trading first round picks these days.

While true, dont forget that there was some added value in that trade. The Bruins are up against the cap but had to retain half of Lucic's salary.

Had they not retained salary his return would certainly have been lower.

At the moment though the Lucic trade was a home-run for Boston.

I would think though lottery protection really diminishes the value and may kill some trades.

Lack is an average goalie who is UFA in one year, I think Benning actually got a reasonable return. Jones and Lehner should return more with their being younger, possessing more potential and coming with years of team control. I know if I was a GM looking for a new starter, I wouldn't even consider Lack.
