This is BS. But even if it were true I still wouldn't be worried. The quality of the Flames leadership group, including the coaching staff and management team, is one of the strengths of the organization.

Boston only missed the playoffs because Ottawa miraculously came back from 3-0 down the beat Pittsburgh that night.

All these supposedly problematic guys getting run out of Boston, yet Marchand stays.

Tells you all you need to know.

Good players wanting market value salaries = dressing room problems in Boston.

This is a pretty sad attempt at character assassination. No insinuations about partying, but man he's an uppity loner (what?) and he had to go. Thanks for the Boston fifth graders view of the situation, anonymous "assistant GM."

The problem is with Neely and company and how they run the team. It seems they don't want to pay players what they are worth. Maybe they could trade us Tukka Rask for Hiller

Brooks and his source might want to be careful. Hamilton now belongs to the Flames where the Hockey Operations President is Brian Burke, the man who sued the internet for writing crap about him.

I have no idea about Hamilton in the dressing room. But I do recall in juniors he was being lauded for his academic work. He's a smart cookie.

Quote:
Hamilton, a 17-year-old from Toronto, ON, attends Governor Simcoe Secondary School in St. Catharines where he maintains an overall academic average of 94% in six Grade 12 level courses including marks of 97% in Calculus, 95% in Physics, 95% in Personal and Fitness, 92% in English, 92% in Biology, and 91% in Chemistry

No wonder he didn't want to play for the Oilers

He's such a diva that he insisted on being the Queen when the Bruins dressed as the characters from Frozen for Halloween...

No wonder the Bruins dealt him, he couldn't be intimidated by their grade school tactics.

I am of the belief that you want either of the following qualities in a hockey player:

A) Dumber than a box of rocks so they don't question what is being asked of them by the coach
or
B) exceptional intelligence that allows them to fully understand the motivations behind what they are being asked by the coach.

Hamilton is obviously not a box of rocks. Just like in 'regular' business , being smarter than your boss can put you at the top of their ####list, good employee or not.

Sounds like Hamilton can put 2 and 2 together, and the Bruins prefer more guys from column A than B.

Personally, I'd be happy that Hamilton didn't fit in in a room full of d-bags.

He does have the look of an ass similar to that of Bieksa. So when he ultimately signs with Vancouver next year it will be a perfect fit. Dislike of Lucic will on increase exponentially.

HA! I sincerely doubt thats going to happen.

Do you remember how Canucks fans treated his family in Vancouver after the Bruins won the Cup? He had to flee Vancouver like a fugitive, I sincerely doubt he'll ever sign there.

Hey everyone, remember when Ian White was basically as good as Dion?

That's what this feels like, except the home fans weren't booing Dougie when he was on the power play.

He had Van as one of the teams he'd move to with his NTC. I think he'll sign in Van next year.

Flames GM Brad Treliving has heard differently.

Much differently.

“I’m not going to comment on any anonymous people out there, but we’ve done our homework — thorough homework — both on the player and the person, and we are over-the-moon excited about the player and the person that we’re getting,” Treliving said. “We think he’s going to fit like a glove — on and off the ice — with us.

“This type of player doesn’t come around very often at this age. You’re talking about a very intelligent kid. He’s a 98% student. He won the scholastic award (in the Ontario Hockey League in 2011). I like that he’s a very cerebral kid. Smart. Intelligent.

“This doesn’t keep me awake at night. Since the day we got Dougie Hamilton, I’ve had the best sleeps of the past few years. I’ve slept like a baby.”
