Or, he may have said "Swiss German" and the person who wrote the profile thought it was two different languages.

Kyle Woodlief's top 10 defencemen of the 2015 draft:
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...orov/71243112/
Interesting that he has Roy ahead of Werenski. Also Meloche ahead of Zboril is also interesting.
Quote:
After those two, the next duo consists of Jeremy Roy and Zach Werenski. Though consensus has Werenski ahead, at Red Line we give the slight edge to Roy. Opinion is divided on Roy, who is not that big or physical, but we believe he has a very special "It" factor and will be an even better pro than a junior. He is the best pure puckhandler and passer in the bunch, and showed his toughness and determination playing through a broken wrist early in the season. Roy is a dynamic player both in transition and on the power play, and we love his passion and instincts all over the ice.
Like Hanifin, Werenski entered a top college program early as a 17-year-old; so early, in fact, that he won't turn 18 until three weeks after the draft. That means he's still got lots of upside growth left in his game. He's already advanced offensively with an attacking mindset, and he will join the rush often and force the action at the offensive end. Beyond that, we like his combination of size and four-way mobility, though he does not use his size to much advantage. He's actually a bit passive physically and needs to improve his defensive awareness.

The odds are we could get someone on that list at 15. I don't know about Roy though, he just seems like a smaller skilled rushing defenseman and I think the Flames need someone who's either a physical presence or at least has more of that component to his game than Roy does. Guys like Zboril and Meloche at least seem to have more of a physical element to their game.

So if Kings pick Chabot and Bruins pick Zboril that means we get a very good forward. Slide baby slide!

I was just talking about this with a co-worker: you know how every year at the draft, some GM gets up there and says something along the lines of "we want to thank the city of "wherever" and congratulate "whoever" for winning the cup. I'd love it if Treliving or Burke walked up and said they want to congratulate the oilers for winning yet another draft lottery. I know it would never happen but that would be amazing to take a shot at the oilers like that.

It's weird to see four QMJHL dmen in his top ten and only two WHL blueliners. Since when does the Q produce anything other than goalies and skill forwards?

Yeah, I've read that here and there too. But I think that if the top 12 go as they're projected, in any order, then I think the Kings would draft Kyle Connor.
I think Dallas might play a big role in this too, because their depth at RW is pretty poor. I can see them looking for a RW. Rantanen will probably be gone by then, and after drafting Nichushkin I doubt they'd go after another Russian like Guryanov. So they might see Konency as the safer pick.

Sometimes I wonder how much of a list is the person's actual rankings and how much of it is trying to be a bit different than the norm. Do they care more about being right or do they care more about being different to attract more discussion or traffic? If you kind of just rehash the general consensus there isn't really much to discuss. Does he really think Roy is better than Werenski or is this just trying to be different?

I'm not sure. I know they have Toffoli, and Williams.
I think they probably see Konecny as a center though.
