No, arguing the existence of PSN id's is way more interesting...

Can't really compare PC 4K gaming to the consoles...you are not running games at 4k on a $400 PC its apples and oranges

consoles do a really good job at playing the latest games without a huge price tag and without having to constantly upgrade

That's like saying "Who needs anything more than a Yugo, it can get up to 100 kph in about 20 seconds!"

No, it's like saying an Audi is a good car and the poseur in the Lamborghini isn't half as special as he thinks he is.

When you have no rebuttal, fall back to memes.

I used to try and keep up with computer specs to play the newest games at the best resolutions. Want to know what I eventually learned? Making a game prettier does not make it better. Give me a good story and good controls. I could care less if it is 4k on PC or 30 FPS on XB1. A pretty, awful game is still just an awful game.

I agree actually.

That said, playing FPS games with a controller makes me want to break things. Also I hate how long it takes for games to load on a console. It's maddening.

EDIT: Actually, playing the same game at 30 fps and then playing it at 144 fps synced is a far different experience, particularly for multiplayer games. Pretty doesn't even factor into it, a lot is smoothness of gameplay and the ability to hit things you aim at.

Very true. I find PC gamer/haters to be the worst. I myself am a Playstation man, but I don't talk down to xbox gamers that xbox "sucks". Xbox is great. In my opinion, PS4 is better though. There are definitely haters on all sides, but PC gamers are the worst.

I built a gaming PC and I'm very happy with it, but the problem is it will be outdated soon. I don't mind since it serves my needs very well. I had a ton of fun researching parts and consulting with friends about the build, and in a few years it will be fun again. My ps4 is great too, but it also has it's limitations.

Moral of the story is that all three platforms are good in their own right, and all three have limitations as well. PC gamers especially need to accept this.

FPSes are an obvious caveat, I agree.

But in most other genres, the differences are mostly in how smug you want to be. Which is why I find much of this thread - especially recent pages - rather ironic. It is full of people simultaneously being smug about their platforms of choice while complaining about other people being smug about their platforms of choice.

How do you crack open a 12 pack and go toe to toe in NHL against your buddies on PC? You can't.

PC gaming is such a solitary experience outside of online play. Also not everyone wants to sit at a desk after being at one at work. And yes, I realize you can hook a pc up to a tv, but its certainly not as streamlined and cost effective as a console.

What is a console other than a simplified PC. I personally don't have any desire to mess with drivers, determine requirements or upgrade hardware. Gimme my box that I can place under my tv for years and I'm satisfied.

I weep for those who have never had a 12 hour LAN party.

Also, NHL on PC is all on EA. 4 man couch co-op is definitely a thing on PC (my many hours getting blasted and playing NBA 2K15, WWE 2K15 and Castle Crashers with my wife &the bros attests to that).

Other than the game, you're right. NHL is only on the console, and that's probably for the better.

Edit - Wait NHL 15 is on pc?! Gah. Awful.

nah, you guys are saying

"why would anyone buy an Audi when a Lamborghini is a better car"

My gaming rig was high end a couple years back, now its high settings...if I don't buy another card by next year it will be getting iffy on games

PS4 and Xbone are 2 years old and they will still play everything new that comes out for 4 years or so I personally think the value is there. How many of the PC gamers actually have rigs that can max this #### out?

4k and high FPS takes one heck of a system plus a 4k tv/monitor
