I keep hearing about all these amazing features of the xbox one that make it more than "just a gaming console" and honestly I have no idea what they are
it controls your cable box?
you can use your phone to browse netflix?
I think the whole it does everything talk is overblown
I have both, PS4 does multiplats better for the most part...honestly if I could only have one I wouldn't take a hit on the gaming end so I could run my cable box through my console.

In terms of features that are on their way, Windows 10 brings:
- cross-platform multiplayer with Xbox One; in other words, PCs and consoles being able to play together.
- game streaming from your Xbox One to your Windows PC or large tablet so you could play from a different TV or in a different room of the house.
- applications that will work on the Xbox One, PC, and phone / tablet.
Everything that currently exists in terms of additional features, you "have no idea what they are" because you don't use them or simply don't care. You only care about gaming.
And that's totally fine. I've even said as much - if you only care about gaming, the PS4 is a fine console.
But if you don't value additional features and only care about gaming, what could anyone possibly tell you to make you value them?
- Windows 10 brings more integration and app portability between Windows PCs phones/tablets, and the Xbox One.
You: I don't care, I care about gaming.
- You can control the console from your phone, tablet, or Windows PC.
You: I don't care, I care about gaming.
- You can view a full TV guide, change channels, start PVR recording, and set your favorite channels (including 'app' channels like TED Talks, Twitch channels) all from the app or the console.
You: I don't care, I care about gaming.
It's tiring, which is why I regard you as a troll every time you make posts like this; it's a fruitless endeavor engaging you. It's like me trying to explain to my friend who sees cars as an appliance for point A-to-B transport why someone would buy a fast / expensive car over a little economy car like they did. I can tell them every perk in the world, but so long as they see cars as tools for going from Point A to B and nothing more, the cheaper and more efficient tool for the job is the one for them. Horsepower, torque, noise, looks, leather-covered everything; these things are tertiary at best to someone who wants a) reliable transportation and b) cheap running costs.
That's you; you want a gaming machine. If you don't care about anything besides gaming on your console, you won't value the features mentioned that aren't gaming related.
It was great for me, especially in the first round of the playoffs, since I have all the channels showing the games pinned as favorites. So I could bounce back and forth between three or four games at a time without having to hunt around for the channels they were on.

lol seriously, maybe you should stop counting chickens before they hatch like you did with the Kinect...it remains to be seen if windows 10 offers anything at all.
PS4 isn't "fine" as a gaming console it is technically better
my point is I don't think the "extras" are worth taking a hit on the gaming side. I have both consoles there is no need for me to troll and every single one of your posts is the same so I could just as easily call you a troll.
You play it off like they are even on the gaming end which is far from the truth

I can't imagine what it's like flopping between a 30/60 fps frame lock at 1080p. You guys need to get with the 2.5k/4k 144hz revolution.

Meh, it's just not that big of a deal to me. Plus, PCs tend to just get pports of sports games, if they get them at all.

sitting at a keyboard in front of a monitor is not what I do for fun, in fact I get paid a lot of money to do that so when I want to relax I would rather be on the couch
I have every console that has ever existed for the most part and always have a high end pc for work...I also have multiple pinball machines and arcade games. I certainly don't play on consoles because I don't have other options

All those cool things but no 4K TV hooked up to a gaming PC?
Weird.
PCs have controllers too that you can like, sit on a couch and play games with. You're just not tethered to a PS4's awful frame rate and mediocre texture memory.

Uh, actually most of these things have not only been announced and demoed, but they're in active testing for users in the preview programs. So yeah, the chickens are hatched. Maybe you should pay more attention to gaming news since you care so much.

And PC is better still, but I notice that doesn't sway you towards the master-race.

They don't need to be 100% even on the gaming end, but you act as though one is 50% better than the other. The difference at this point is negligible if you want to play games, and aren't sitting 2" away from your screen making sure you're getting all your pixels, and trying to count frame drops. You know, like actually playing. If the PS4's gaming capability is 100%, the Xbox One at 95% of that is more than adequate and provides vastly more features on the entertainment side, and integrates with a bigger app ecosystem.
If you don't care about anything more than the gaming side, then you being in the conversation is pointless and I'm not sure why you keep on.

perhaps you have missed the point of this thread...and the fact PS4 is selling 2 times better worldwide they must be doing something right
anyway I have an xbox one and have already talked about my enjoyment of Halo and the value of ea access...but this is the thunderdome and when you are suggesting the on the gaming end its a virtual dead heat I am going to strongly disagree the PS4 has better hardware by more than 5%
Remember when you mocked me for suggesting the Xbox one would be sold without kinect? back when you were telling us about all the amazing things the kinect would do? Thats what I mean when I say don't count your windows 7 chickens before they hatch

PC's do have controllers...but not the exclusive games
I bought a big tv before 4k came around...not worth the upgrade yet

I would like to hear a list of exclusive games that would make playing on an inferior looking system worth purchasing.
You're right about 4K though, who want's to game at 60hz?

I keep hearing about these crazy performance advantages of the Playstation 4 that make it a "superior gaming console" and honestly I have no idea what they are.
It gets a slightly more stable framerate for more of the time?
It gets an extra 180p in resolution on a few titles?
I think the whole "it's way better for gaming" talk is overblown.
I have both, Xbox One does more things overall from both a gaming and entertainment perspective... honestly, if I could only have one, I wouldn't give up the entire entertainment side of things just so I could run some games at a slightly higher resolution or a slightly less variable frame rate.
