Today I hit a new low. Went to Tims for a BLT then McDonalds for a coffee.
The two Tims near my work have yet to give me a normal tasting regular coffee so I refuse to order it. Literally throwing money away.
I don't get how a Regular at McDonalds is the same taste 99.9% of the time while Tim Hortons is 50/50 at best. They both use sure shot machines. Are Tims employees just that much more inept?
It can be the coffee maker. When I worked in Foothills Industrial I used to go to the older Tim Hortons every morning and noticed that the coffee from the coffee maker on the right hand side always tasted bitter while the one on the left tasted normal. It was like this for years. When in line I always let people pass me to order from the right one.
When I was in Okinawa, I had the MegaMac - two BigMac's stacked on each other. I attempted it and almost puked. That said, here's the McDonald's menu in Japan... delicious!
Yup, I guess I am a coffee "snob" if I like good coffee and refuse to drink the swill that others enjoy. I'm really ok with it, but please feel free to think I have some vendetta or whatnot.
As with being a snob about anything, it's not the fact that you are one, but how you present yourself that will bother people. This smarmy, smug, arrogant attitude and wording. It's off-putting and annoying in regards to any topic.

This was my go to burger when I worked there. Toast the arch deluxe bun (it wasn't normally toasted) and then fresh grill a quarter pounder patty. Soak up the remaining patty grease on clean paper towel. Add Ketchup/Mustard, pickles, sliced onions, lettuce, tomato and bacon. I can still taste it... Mmmmmmm
When I worked there in the early 90s they had a sandwich called the McLean Deluxe. The patty wasn't greasy. You know when you cook a bunch of quarter pounders how the grill would be completely filled with grease? With McLean patties, there was not a drop of grease at all and they were good. I'd always make myself a QP, but with a McLean patty. That thing was awesome.

I was waiting for a post like this. No sore spot at all, just find it funny how many people think McDonalds and Timmy's is good coffee.

LOL, you remind me of the two super coffee snobs at work that dumped like 60 bucks for a pound of coffee that some cat pooped out. And they thought it was super edgy. They made 2 thermoses of it, and were letting people sample it. The next week, I came in and said I bought some too from a different vendor in Kensington, or maybe I said Marda Loop.... possibly Inglewood. Anyway it was one of those neighbourhoods dominated by fixies, ironic trucker caps and really stupid moustaches...... and let the same guys have a couple cups of mine.
They were going on about how superior it was to the muffler shop coffee we had, what a treat it was, how it had a different hint of fruit than the one they bought, one guy was..... I dunno how to describe it, huffing it off a plastic spoon?... all this dorky coffee snob BS......
LOL, it was the muffler shop coffee, I just made like a triple dose pot. I think it was called 'Guatemalan Estate' painfully crafted by the folks at Red Carpet coffee service.
I'm at the airport in St. Paul today and they have an A&W - but a strange American version of A&W that includes
- Deli Burgers (burgers with beef, but also pastrami on them, in addition to mushrooms)
- Cheese Curds
- Corn Dog nuggets
The Deli Burger is the main thing that caught my eye - taking an already unhealthy food and just ramping it up to new level.
I would tell you how it was - but I took a pass.
Hopefully you went to Charley's Grilled Subs! That place is so good that even their airport location is half decent.

Of course you'd never make that mistake.
Is this where I say cool story bro? Cripes you guys are sensitive about a guy telling you your coffee is bad. And it's funny people telling me I sound like an ass. Awesome! Keep layering it on though. I await the next one. Yeesh you'd think I was trying to outlaw dogs or something.

The number of times you've posted speaks for itself. Someone with a normal, unbiased take would voice their displeasure with the coffee and move on. You're beating a drum at this point.
OutOfTheCube really hit the nail on the head with the tone in which you're doing it too.
Couldn't care less that you think it's terrible. For drip coffee, it's far from terrible. It's just your dismissive hipster attitude about it and going on an on that's grating. I agree with Pylon. Someone could serve you a cup of McDonalds coffee at one of your $5 a cup places and you'd likely have no idea.

I really didn't keep track and didn't go back and look, but didn't he post twice before people started quoting and addressing him personally? Two or three times is hardly a big deal.
I like the coffee at McDonalds, like it at Tims and generally just enjoy a coffee or two in the morning. Not a huge fan of Starbucks, but its not the end of the world to have one there from time to time.
I don't like Starbucks coffee cause with their coffee I seem to like less than a full creamer and less than a full sugar in a venti but I'm not a big fan of most of their roasts just black.
This leads to inconsistent taste every time I get one so ai just don't.

Yes Pylon is one of the more emotional posters at CP but expect to be called out on any public forum when you spew crap like below that expresses a feeling of superiority over everyone else.

Oh and nobody likes "snobs" to which you are self-proclaimed.

Any time I'm forced to Starbucks I order an Americano. Only a little bit more expensive, and way better than their drip.

You raise a valid point, I used a word which was probably uncalled for in telling people they were delusional if they think McDonald's has any food of redeeming quality. I apologize for calling people that.
I stand by my point though. McDonald's is mass produced food and coffee with the goal of being cheap and fast, not good. I mean, why eat home baked mac and cheese when you can just have Kraft Dinner, right? It's cheap, easy, fast. Oh right, I'm a hipster snob.
The title of the thread is "Problems of McDonald's". So, I should be free to come in here and say what I think their problem is, should I not? Or do we need to change the title to indicate if you don't like McDonald's, stay out?

If you are free to say what you want, shouldn't other be free to say what they want.
Coffee, like beer, wine, cars, music, colours are all subjective. Different people like/dislike them for various reasons. They are not like lake communities......
