Mike Johnson is a Flames hater. He simply cannot stomach that they've bunked all of his predictions about them this year.
It's funny, when he is on the Saturday night panel on CBC, others guys really have to reel him in when talking Flames.
But you know what? I think he's going to color commentate a good series with less Flames hate. It's the playoffs and they deserve to be where they're at. I think he'll get it finally.
Glad it is not Randorff though. I like him as a sports guy but every time I hear him talk all I can think of is Friday Night CFL Football Tonight presented by Wendy's.

I searched "Romanuk" to get a refresher on what he sounds like, and one of the only results is this video of Jay + Dan + the camera guy laughing at the way he says "SCORES!".
Great, now that's all I'll hear.

Bleh. Romanuk is the worst of the 3 national crews Snet/CBC used. PBP is behind, fumbling around, regularly missing names (and although correcting, taking twice as long), just not as good as Hughson, or Randorf on the call. Not that Randorf is a lot better, but Romanuk stumbles around a lot and has odd times when he gets excited and seemingly misses other big moments.
Johnson is ok, but has a bit of an air of arrogance about him, and likes to pat himself on the back a bit too much. He coined the "unsustainable" phrase way back when, starting with the game where Hiller saved 49 and Calgary won in OT. That was Game 5, middle of October.
He repeated it every game he did for the Flames since, and he's had his words shoved down his mouth now for 6 months.
Together, certainly got the short end of the stick out of the national crews.
And, no more Friedman, Kypreos and Hrudey studio crew...they are doing the east games. Instead, its Millard, Stock, Doug MacLean, Shannon, Pang and Cox.

What a slap in the face. We're one of only two Canadian teams left, in a later time zone so there shouldn't be conflict, and we get the second rate crew? Man that's a joke.
Good news is since Ball isn't calling any more national games they wont notice he's actually their best play by play guy and he will stay the Flames regional guy
I honestly change the channel or do something else at intermission if it's not the Hrudey/Friedman panel.
Has PJ Stock even watched a Flames game this year? Last I heard during the season he was describing he Flames as a grinding, physical team. The Flames are a transition, counter attack speed team.
Also I'll pile onto Mike Johnson with everyone. Not a fan at all. Seems arrogant, bias against the Flames all year, analysis sub par at best.
