Getting tired of hearing about how the Ducks have all these comeback wins when trailing going in to the 3rd period. 12 in the regular season, 3 in the playoffs.
Okay. Calgary had 10 and then 2, hardly any difference when looking at a small sample size such as an upcoming 7 game series.
Everyone is really laying it on thick with the Ducks (media) as if they are some unbeatable behemoth.
I can't wait until we win game 1. Will be interesting to see the panic.

US viewers get Dave Strader and Brian Engblom for the series. I'm happy with that. Strader is about as unbiased as you can get and Engblom is solid.

Oddly enough, that press release has game 3 being Wednesday no matter what; only the MTL game could change days. Might be an oversight though.

I'm hoping Wotherspoon can figure it out but it is coming on a little too slowly for my liking.

He must be used to the system by now. Must also be learning a lot from the other D-men. It's up to him now. I personally believe we are going to need more minutes from him in this series, unless Diaz comes back but I doubt it.

I don't think Wotherspoon has been bad. But I think he needs to do something to get more ice-time, throw a big hit, set up a goal - do something to make a statement to Hartley.
Hard to do with only 3 or 4 minutes of ice-time though - in that situation, guys are just playing safe.
If he can just get over that hump, he'll be fine.

Calgary scored more goals
Allowed less
and had one less ROW over the season
right?

This is my view. The Ducks have recognizable talent, flames are considered "lucky" because theirs aren't. I mean a forward core led by Kesler, Perry and Getzlaf must be better, right?
I don't think so. At least they weren't better over a 82 game sample.

To continue this positive trend, I think people sometimes forget that Jonas Hiller is 4th all time in NHL history for career playoff save percentage at 93.2%. He's only 0.1% behind Holtby, Tim Thomas, and Craig Anderson, who are all tied for first at 93.3%.
He even has a decent sample size with 32 games. His career GAA is an impressive 2.28.
Anderson has a 90.9% career playoff save percentage.
And these goalies played on the same team, so comparing their stats gives more value.

Monahan will be able to rock the Burkie look if he lets that hair grow anymore.

So, the two days rest is after Game 3, not before it.
Probably for the best to heal up, only down side is that if the Flames regain or carry momentum in/through game 3, the extra day off will slow that down a bit.

I like Mike Johnson though. Even though he's always adamant that the Flames can't keep doing what they've done all year.
