CBC was announcing that gm one of CGY-ANA would start either WED or THU depending on DET-TB. I'm guessing THU-SUN, then at home for WED FRI

Not too sure about the time of your posting, but I am assuming this was annouced before TB won. Since they play on Wed, I think its safe to assume we are playing Thurs, Sunday then Wed/Fri?

No Thanks. That is a 11:00 or 11:30 here on the east coast. That makes it very hard to work the next day. I can live with 7pm (MST) starts.

Most should be at 8:00 or 8:30 MT as it helps out viewers in the Pacific timezone. It was surprising that game 6 was an hour earlier considering it was a Sat. and the Predators-Bhawks was on at 6:00 MT.

It's not lame, that's a good thing. The series will be on the CBC and viewers in Alberta would be taken away from the game when the polls close to watch election coverage. This has happened in the past to other provinces having provincial elections on the same night.

Game 1 has to be Friday, right? It's Tuesday now, even if they set the schedule today a Thursday start would be less than 48 hours notice for the arena, fans, broadcasters, etc.

I'm thinking:
May 1&3 - Games 1&2 in Anaheim
May 6&8 - Games 3&4 in Calgary

Had an idea!

Strange that they haven't announced it yet considering they knew yesterday at 10PM ET that the last round 1 game was Wednesday.

Possibly depends on who wins that Tampa/Detroit game.

There is no chance the games in Anaheim will start at 6 PST. They will either be 7 or 7:30.

I can live with the 7:00pm (PDT) start, while that is 11:00pm (ADT) here, and it sucks, it's understandable.
Beer at night, coffee in the morning, sleeping all day Saturday.
That's how I survived Round 1.

How likely is it that one of the games is played on Friday or Saturday nights? Highly?

Saturday is a safe bet since there is no game for sure that day due to the concert.

Good because there is a pretty big boxing match I'd like to watch Saturday.

Both of the games in Anaheim in the first round were 7:30 PT starts.
Tampa won tonight, so that should eliminate any chance that Game one is on Wednesday.
|
I kinda get why they do it, but a 8pm MT start is 10pm on the east coast. They are probably only getting people watching the first period and then heading off to bed. My uneducated guess would be that people would rather stay up to watch 2 periods as opposed to 3. 7:30MT would be a nice compromise.

Seeing that Saturday is out of the question, I would think Sunday would be game 2, and going off that game 1 would be on Friday. Nothing but speculation on my part though.
Friday would be better for us. One more day for those bumps and bruises to heal.
