Nope, don't think so. My recollection it was in 1990, the year after we won the cup.

Gilmour had scored in overtime but Morel said he had blown the whistle. That was the game Crisp went ballistic, climbing on the boards and yelling at Morel.

Learning how to win is a process, and tonight was a painful step forward. We dropped the ball with a bad outing, but we'll be right back in there on Saturday.

This is a winnable series, and Saturday is going to be loud.

Nope it was good 'ol John Nabokov. Irbe was the mid 90s series.

The 2008 series was 5-3 in Game 7. Kipper got pulled 34 minutes in - in what would be his final playoff game for the Flames.
Jeremy Roenick led the way with 2 goals and 4 points - with Pavelski, Thornton and Devin Setoguchi picking up singles.

For Calgary it was Iginla, Nolan (3rd of the series) and Wayne Primeau.

Getting all this from the box score because I still don't remember a damn thing about the game.

All I remember from that series was a huge Sarich hit to spark a come back and that Nolan was terrific the entire stretch.

My memory was Morel didn't see the puck go past the goal line and believed Hrudy saved it.

Dammit, that's right. I remember almost nothing about that '93 series, but remember the '90 series like it was yesterday. (Suter taking the dumb penalty with Gretzky out in Game 1, Tony Granato scoring shorthanded in OT, and then the Morel call.)

Morel also gave Thomas Steen a goal on a puck than went in about a second after the red light went in in the '87 series against the Jets, and missed Claude Lemieux kicking Vernon's skates out from under him in game 6 in '89. He was amazing.

The Was/NYI series had some big swings between games and also the Min/STL series.
Hopefully playing at home we will see the edge in play swing back to us.

Raymond didn't do much but we have no better options unless Bouma is healthy.

Yes they did play well but gave up the puck 5 or 6 times, you can't do that in pivotal playoff games and expect to win the series. Hiller stood on his head.

Really thought tonight had the feel of a long OT game, the way the Flames were hanging in there. Felt we were starting to turn the tide in the third, but we shelled up way too much in the first and second. Going to have to keep pushing after that first goal on Saturday, and if Monahan still isn't looking 100% throw Gaudreau down to the Backlund and Bennett line and let them loose.

Oh look, its a lurking Vancouver fair weather fan that crawled out of the gutter to tell us the Canucks can play even better! *pushes back down with broom*

Wasn't Kippers last game in the post season, that came the following year against the Hawks.

Honestly it was a tough call. We have to remember there wasn't video replay. At the time I was pissed - but looking back it was a very tough call to make on-ice.

The brutal call happened next year in Game 1 against Edmonton when Nieuwendyk scored but the puck got caught on some loose padding by the post. It was clearly over the line but stuck in that padding so went undetected.

Edmonton would go on to win Game 1 on route to a 3-1 series lead.

That was always the non-goal that I felt sucked the worst.

I think Morel said he lost sight of the puck so he blew the play dead. Morel said something to the effect that he blew the whistle before the puck went in.

Raymond scores on that breakaway, and we'd very likely be talking about a Flames victory tonight. That would have been an absolute back breaker for the Canucks. Don't forget about the 2 posts we hit as well. Just one of those games where we didn't get the bounces. Gotta hand it to the Canucks though. They played desperate and threw everything they had at us, and the Flames just didn't play with the same intensity that got them to this point. As much as I hate the Sedins, they were very effective tonight.

Oh well, bring on game 6. We'll have the Sea of Red and last change, so the matchups will be better. The Flames know exactly what they need to improve on for Saturday, and I have full confidence that they'll bring their A game. Go Flames!

Flames are a different team in the dome...game six at home with a 3-2 lead

we would have taken that at the start of the year, middle of the year, and the day before the playoffs started

This is probably the most calm I've been after a playoff loss in, well,...............forever.

Up 3-2 going home where they've played great. All this for a team that I thought would be bottom 5 before the season started.

They were pretty bad tonight, but this is still awesome. Can hardly wait until Saturday!!

Yes. I stand corrected. I have also blocked that series from my mind. In fact I was on a plane when that elimination game was on - so I found out who lost when I arrived in Calgary.
