They will learn from this and win on Saturday. Give them a fricking chance.
excellent point

Not really that down. I'm one of the few here that has seen every single season of the Calgary Flames. I've seen a lot and have seen this team struggle closing out series ever since they won the cup in 1989. It's par for the course. Until things change they stay the same.

Playing with 5.5 Defencemen still worries me. We need to let the 6th person play. In no time our top 4 will be worn out. Plus with Wotherspoon it's good for his development.
Hudler for sure need to dig deeper. Jones had a good game. Actually that line was pretty effective.

A few thoughts:

1) Team skated poorly tonight. Looked tired and after Jones scored probably thought the game was over. Dumb move and it came back to bite them.
2) Can we go back to Gaudreau & Jooris on the same line for a while? I feel like there's potential there (the same potential that we saw back in November), and the Monahan / Hudler pairing just isn't matching up to the Sedins right now.
3) Backlund & Colborne came to play, but both are just snakebitten right now. Does Backlund even have a point since his 8 point streak ended? Bennett played hard but his lack of strength really showed today. Hope he gets much stronger.
4) Thought all of our D were invisible tonight, with Russell being the only one who wasn't outright dissapointing. Really, really missed Mark Giordano.
5) Just Win on Saturday. I do not want to go back to Van for a Game 7.

Cripes I forgot that San Jose series went 7 somehow. In fact I've entirely blocked that Game 7 from my memory - can't remember a damn thing about it.

Flames could really use some more minutes from a bottom defence pairing.

Hudler should rest up and have a game off. I'm assuming it's too much of an injury to heal in a week though. Use some more of that hungry youth. Maybe Granlund?

No problem though. The crowd will infuse them with energy on Saturday, and Calgary will slam them through the boards into the off season.

Any of this here we go again talk , or xx many games with elimination potential just needs to stop. This series was always going to be tight. This is a brand new org. from top to bottom, nothing that's happened in the past means anything, good or bad.

The only people impacted or who know about that crap is us old ass fans.

Top line had a rough night. They've been pretty bad in all three road games but strong at home. I'm expecting a strong game on Saturday night with last change.

The 14 team is kids just learning. This is all gravy, remember. These guys are going to get a lot better together. Oh, and this team is missing its best player and its top line is clearly not 100%.

There are no real easy comparisons for this team. If they hit on this year's first rounder, and improve as a group, look out.

This is no repeat of 93, no matter how this series ends.

Besides, they'll probably win this series.
It couldn't be a repeat of 1993 cause going into game six the Flames trailed the Kings 3-2 and lost that home game.

1994 was the season Flames crapped the bed losing three straight to the Nucks

Kind of expected the Canucks will play desperate hockey. I knew one goal lead after the first was not good enough. It just take one lucky bounce for the Canucks to score.

I just noticed why the Sedins are pretty good with cycling the puck. They sure get away with a lot of pick/interference in front of the net. Refs are not calling those picks but at least they try not to call a lot of penalties. Ref missed a few penalties though.

I didn't think Ryan Miller played that well tonight. There wasn't a lot of good shots from the Flames and not a lot of players blocking his view. When Flames beats him, it hit the post. Need to change that on Game 6 and block his view a lot. Jonas Hiller were the only reason the Flames were even in a game. The first line except Gaudreau sort of quiet again. Ferland came out hitting again early then kind of quiet down in the 3rd. Ferland should stay away from grabbing someone in front of the net because the refs are watching him.

Okay, I don't normally b$tch about Hughson-Simpson but tonight I noticed their pro-Canucks thing. They were talking about all of Ferland's hit were borderline and gets away with it. Then a couple of picks by Sedins that they did not mentioned and even the Colborne got slashed were undetected by those two and did not mentioned it until Colborne went to the tunnel. Only thing about the Flames they mentioned a lot tonight was the play of Hiller and Backlund.

Not too upset about the lost because we are still ahead 3 games to 2 and they are back in Calgary on Saturday.
