The best part of Bieksa's quotes is that he is so obviously trying to convince himself of what he is saying, but his play on the ice demonstrates that he is failing.

Awesome win!! Flames just dominated the game from the start. Flames are so much faster and they are suffocating defensively. Papa and Mama Gaudreau should be at every game because Johnny Hockey seems to be playing well whenever they are around. I love Hartley's line match-up on the Sedin's line vs Stajan's line. I always thought Stajan is much better match up than Monahan's line or Backlund's line. I guess it is a good thing that we keep him this season. Ferland was awesome again. Bieksa, Szbisa, Weber and even the Sedins are watching over everytime he's on the ice. Bieksa seems to be nervous everytime he sees Ferland coming...yep dumb-dumb who's irrelevant now?
The whole team played well and did not see any passenger for this team in this game. Jonas Hiller was great again. The only goal he gave up wasn't even his fault. I guess that's the only way the Canucks can score..going through Flames player's leg or stick. Only thing that scares me about Hiller is the amount of rebounds he gives up but as long as he can make a save on those rebounds I am fine with it. Sam Bennett again played well. This guy got a knack on going to the dirty area (in front of the net). He really reminds me of Doug Gilmour's gritty play. He is getting better and better every game. By the start of next season, he'll be one of our top man. Just loving it.

I really wish the Flames will finish them off on Thursday night. I don't want them giving the Canucks a chance to think they get a shot of winning this series.

Russell has 5 goals and 13 assists in 24 games since Giordano went down with injury.

0.75 points per game........62 point pace over 82 games.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to Mikael Backlund. Only 1 assist this series, but he's been pretty stellar as a defensive centre after game 1. His line has been very good.

Not sure what that has to do with the game of fetch, but I said I will gladly take Monahan and Bennett going forward over both Sedins.

I think the Canucks will come out for game five like they did last night. They are going to be desperate. But the first 20 minutes will tell the tale. If we can come out of the first period even, we are looking good. If we come out ahead, they might wilt the same way they did last night.

And it is funny that a team with 70 SATs and nearly double what we managed can be said to have "wilted". But other than the Sedins, Vancouver pretty much kept to the outside and wasn't terribly interested in battling forward. A lot of soft shots. Even the Sedins got weaker as the game went on.

Canucks looked resigned to losing the series. After the Flames were up 3-1 you didn't see the level of desperation required to comeback. Hell Dallas put up more of a fight facing mathematical elimination against the Flames back in March. Flames are definitely in their heads, reminds me of when our old boys played Chicago in the playoffs, just no fight against a younger, hungrier team.

I apologize if this has already been said, but. When the Flames made the playoffs I was watching some of the '04 videos posted and realized Gelinas wore #23 in that run. The current #23 has been having a monster season, and has already recorded 8 game winning goals. Could it be that Monahan will be the 2015 Gelinas?

'09 Flames = '15 Canucks. Former star players who look old and worn down trying to make one last desperate run, but can't seem to get their game going after a decent regular season against a team who hasn't been to the dance in a long time.

'09 Hawk = '15 Flames. Dynamite duo of Gaudreau and Monahan (Toews & Kane) leading the way with a dynamite backend, solid goaltending, and young team on the rise. Playing with nothing to lose and don't know any better. Young stars still on entry level deals.

I think we are going to hear a lot about "The 4th win is the toughest" "Killer Instinct" "Desperate Canucks" etc etc in the next couple of days.

But if I have learned anything from this team this year its that they don't react normally to anything. They fight in the last 10 minutes of a game when they are down by 4. They never believe they are out of it. In an intense playoff game they rib Johnny about his parents being on the Kiss Cam.

I look back to that "Shift" in game one that led to Russel's GWG. If you were to go back and watch the flow of that game you would have sworn that was a team down by one playing desperate to tie it up in the last minute. Nope, they were tied. It could have gone to overtime, but they played that shift like their playoff lives depended on it, and they were tied in game one.

They may not be the most experienced, biggest, or most talented team on any given night but they most definitely have the X factor. However long this run lasts, I will never believe they are out of it until they actually are.

They had that huge push to start the third, but it wilted after five minutes, and they had nothing left after that.

Ferland pushing Bieksa off the puck as easily as he did, and Bieksa simply standing there with his xbox controller disconnected might be the the moment that most defines this series.

He didn't say current Flames did he because you could just take one; Iginla. In fact, both the Sedins combined barely edge out his points when he was here and are behind him in terms of his career totals lol. He has more goals but they have twentyish more points.

Kypreos/Hrudey actually compared Ferland to Lucic.
Now, I've always said, to myself mostly, that if there were 2 players I'd take any day it would be Lucic and Doughty. Having that comparison gives me an even bigger hockey boner, than I already had.
