Hahaha I'm just so used to hearing cliches that I didn't even clue in to the "huge two points" comments. If this team is actually making that a thing, I love it. I love these guys.
Forget #NeverQuit, we need to start using #Huge2Points

Yep, I'm listening to it too. They all seem pretty pissed off with how out-coached Willie Desjardins was - and they're right.

Oh my god. I didn't get why anyone thought that was funny until just now. Perfect.

They are right - except for the second half of the game, where they checked the Sedins into the wall at the blue line very well.
Even Hughson said on one play "that's how you play the Sedins".
I even think in the first, when the Sedins and Burrows were cycling, that the Flames didn't make the mistake of overcommitting or leaving the backdoor pass open. So there were a few chances, but at bad angles or with lots of blocking. Heck, even Horvat's goal normally gets blocked.

Just looking at Burke's reaction on the goal, while undoubtedly happy, does it look like he has a toothache or just had his wisdom teeth pulled or something to anyone else? Normally you'd yell out in that situation?

He had dip in his lip. If he would've smiled or yelled, he would've had tobacco all over the front of his white shirt.
Maybe now he'll learn not to dip during the third period of a Calgary Flames game. Live and learn.

Burke's hair, chew, tie combination is definitely in playoff form.

As bad as our 1st line played yesterday, I thought the Sedin line was almost as ineffective. I'm sure they will have success this series, but the Flames did a pretty great job of containing them...they didn't really have many chances to finish.

Sedins are good players they had a few good chances...hardly unstoppable
I could say that Vancouver had no answer for Bennett he just needs to finish
Vancouver can play better but so can the Flames and I expect them both to next game

I've been looking for the shift right before Russel's goal in highlights but haven't been able to find it. I wanted to see Joe's shift again, as my memory is a little 'foggy' towards the end of the game.
Is it in this thread anywhere or does anyone know where that highlight is?

Colbourne was really chirping Bieksa. Actually a few flames were and it was great! I loved seeing Ferland hammer Burrows too! He is becoming one of my favorite flames quickly.

Let's be objective here: the Flames were outshot 18-3 with Daniel Sedin on the ice. So that's not a huge overstatement. As PMM says it was a huge coaching failure by Desjardins not to use them more in the third. He was soundly outcoached by Hartley - the Flames couldn't get an outlet pass to work in the first with Canucks D stepping up in the neutral zone to disrupe the breakout. By the 2nd, Hartley had changed the breakout strategy and suddenly everything was flowing again.
Don't underestimate the importance of that coaching matchup.

I think Monahan needs some Punta Cana once all of the playoffs is over!

It also sounds like the typical pattern for probably 75% of Flames games (sloppy 1st, great in the 3rd). Our lack of shots in the 1st had a lot to do with the team simply not playing well than the Sedins or Canucks dominating. They were not passing well and seemed a little to on edge.
I get what Desjardin was doing. They had a lead and the Sedins are the types of players you put out to stifle the other team's offense. He was probably trying to preserve their energy in the series. It was a miscalculation to assume that a 1 goal lead was time to do that though.
