Flames need better faceoff percentages in this series and I don't know who can do better. Shore's a C but I dont think he is any better than Granlund.

Maybe, swap Byron in for someone but who?
Shore is supposed to be good at faceoffs. Granlund is really bad at them. Colborne is good but he's fixed where he is. I'd like Shore to play because I think his down low game is suited to play these guys, and he'd mesh better with Bollig. But I don't think it happens unless there's an injury or a loss.

have any of you ever watched the playoffs?

top lines often get shut down and it comes down to your depth players

This is what Russell did with that shot to GM place.

Well, I won't be able to sleep for another couple hours. I was so pumped I felt like I could have ran home from the arena.

In a 20 minute walk home by myself in my jersey, amongst hundreds of people, I did not get heckled one little bit. In fact, 6 people gave me variations of "go flames" or "Vancouver sucks". If I were a Canuck fan, I would walk away from that game itching to see the next one. It was a close, exciting game. They played well and should still have plenty of confidence for game 2.

This fan base has never been more broken than this season.

Ferland was great. Burrows was rendered completely ineffective. Ferland made him his bitch, was just banging him hard all night . At the last shift, Burrows had a chance to hit Ferland from behind and he just played the puck instead. He's scared to mess with Ferland. Also in the third, Ferland was right in Bieksa's face, that would be a great fight to watch. Love it!

I've been thinking Colborne's upside will be to develop into a Martin Hanzal type player, well that shift was exactly how Hanzal plays. Colborne fumbles the puck a bit, he doesn't have the high end skill, he's going to be a 3rd/4th line guy for this team, but he's going to give it his all for this franchise, because he is a die hard Flames fan. He just seems like one of us. He probably posts on this board.

Brodie had been playing like crap down the stretch but that break did wonders for him, he was great. When he is on, he can have a Doughty like impact on a game.

they have lost 7 home playoff games in a row...and their window is obviously either shut or open a crack. They just got beat by a team with 5 rookies? more?

I am all for getting Shore into the line up. Just doesn't seem to be on Hartley's to do list though.

Maybe Arnold can come in once Addy's season is done. Use him specifically for FO's.

What a great game. Well worth the hang over tomorrow.

Bennett was incredible and he was so noticeable all game. Huge character win by the boys. Seemed like a pretty even game to me

Big thanks to Dorsett for not taking Ferland up on that fight. He is one of their "tough" players and turned down a fight. Ferland spent the rest of the game throwing his weight around without much pushback. Haha

Why are there Cuthbert calls?

Did NBC broadcast it and he contracts for them?

Sam gaining the trust of his teammates. He no doubt also has the trust of the coaches as well. He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that ever lacks confidence, but you can bet he will only improve with each passing game.

Really even game. Hiller was the difference tonight. He was really good and made some extremely timely saves, especially in the third.

Brodie's long passes not working? He simply lugs it himself to gain the zone and create chances. Nice adjustment.

Bennett played like a guy who hadn't won a playoff game all year. He had enough.
